We're Beacon-based Hudson Valley & Catskills wedding + elopement photographers who love to capture natural, authentic moments for all couples in love.
We are Megan & Kenneth, a Beacon-based photography team offering wedding photography services across the Hudson Valley. Katie and Brad chose The Garrison for their summer Garrison wedding in late June. Morning rain gave way to soft overcast light, perfect for romantic portraits. This dreamy outdoor ceremony venue set the stage for an unforgettable day.

Katie got ready upstairs at the inn during a rainy morning. Brad prepared in the cocktail hour space with his groomsmen nearby. Each of them shared an emotional first look with their parents. Katie also revealed her dress to her bridesmaids before the ceremony.

By first look time, the rain had finally stopped completely. We met Katie and Brad at the stone gazebo for their first look. Katie’s bubbly personality shone through with movement and pure joy. This summer Garrison wedding moment captured raw, genuine emotion beautifully.

We hopped on a golf cart and headed toward the stone cabin. A beautiful willow tree stood nearby, framed by wildflowers in bloom. The colors matched Katie and Brad’s wedding theme perfectly. It honestly felt like stepping into a lively garden party.

Next, we climbed the hill behind the stone gazebo for couples portraits at this summer Garrison wedding. From up there, the Hudson Valley views stretched out beautifully behind them. As Hudson Valley wedding photographers, we always chase moments like this one. The overcast sky kept the lighting soft and incredibly flattering.

While the venue reset chairs after the rain, we worked through family portraits. We photographed the wedding party against that same gorgeous hillside backdrop. This timing let everything dry out before guests arrived for the ceremony. It was a smooth, efficient transition into this summer Garrison wedding celebration.

A live painter captured the ceremony in real time from start to finish. Katie and Brad exchanged heartfelt, personal vows in front of their guests. The officiant guided the moment with warmth and genuine ease. Their outdoor ceremony felt intimate despite the morning’s earlier weather.

After exchanging vows at this summer Garrison wedding, Katie and Brad shared a kiss everyone cheered for. Brad dipped Katie as they made their way back down the aisle. Guests laughed and applauded as the newlyweds practically skipped down the path. It was a joyful close to a beautiful outdoor ceremony.

Cocktail hour ran a generous ninety minutes, giving guests plenty of time to mingle. We pulled the couple aside for a few extra portraits during this summer Garrison wedding’s cocktail hour. Katie’s veil came down and her bustle was finally released for photos. We had kept everything pinned earlier to protect the dress from rain.

Katie and Brad spent part of cocktail hour visiting with their pet guinea pig, Oreo. Guests also enjoyed a live poet writing personalized verses throughout the evening. These small touches made this summer Garrison wedding feel personal and warm. Every detail reflected who Katie and Brad are as a couple.

Right as cocktail hour wrapped, the sun finally broke through the clouds. We snuck the couple out for quick golden hour portraits on the property. The warm light was a welcome contrast to the day’s earlier overcast skies. It gave us some of our favorite images from the entire day.

Guests gathered for wedding party introductions as this summer Garrison wedding reception officially began. Katie and Brad shared their first dance soon after walking in. Parent dances followed, bringing happy tears to many guests in the room. The energy in the room was already building toward a great night.

Once salads were served, the speeches began with the father of the bride. The maid of honor followed with a heartfelt and funny toast. The best man closed things out with stories that had everyone laughing. Every speech added warmth to this summer Garrison wedding reception.

The dance floor filled quickly once dinner wrapped up for the evening. Nick Michaels and the team from EP Event Group kept the music going strong. Katie and Brad let loose with their friends and family all night. Their infectious energy kept guests dancing well into the night.

Later in the evening, guests gathered around a crackling campfire outside. S’mores were passed around while everyone caught their breath from dancing. It gave guests a relaxed moment to chat under the stars. This kind of detail makes a summer Garrison wedding feel effortless and fun.

The Garrison offers couples an outdoor Ceremony Garden framed by a vine covered pergola. Elegant white chairs line the paved aisle for an elegant outdoor ceremony. From there, guests move into the bright, glass walled Hudson Room. With views of the garden, it works beautifully for a relaxed cocktail hour.

The River Room offers floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Hudson River. It comfortably seats up to two hundred guests for dinner and dancing. Couples looking for something smaller often choose the more intimate Windgate space. As Hudson Valley wedding photographers, we love how versatile this summer Garrison wedding venue truly is.

This summer Garrison wedding came together thanks to an incredible group of vendors. The Garrison served as the stunning backdrop for the entire celebration. J Howard Studios captured the day live through painting throughout the event. Tania “Taz” Asnes of Ars Poetica wrote personalized poems for guests to enjoy.
Alchemy Weddings handled hair and makeup for Katie and her bridal party. Donna Park designed the lush, colorful florals seen throughout the day. Nick Michaels and EP Event Group provided music and entertainment all night long. Mark Giller of One Heart Ceremonies officiated with warmth and genuine care.
Either way works for us! We’ll be in touch in no time at all to book in a chat with you and, yes, we’re sure Cordy and Phoebe will pop up and say hi.
