We're Beacon-based Hudson Valley & Catskills wedding + elopement photographers who love to capture natural, authentic moments for all couples in love.
As Beacon-based Hudson Valley wedding photographers, we are lucky to document love stories at some of the most breathtaking venues in this region. When Danielle and Conner chose Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn in Dover Plains for their wedding day, we knew it was going to be something special. We offer full-day wedding photography services to couples throughout the Hudson Valley, Catskills, and Westchester. This was one of those weddings that reminded us exactly why we love what we do.

Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn sits on 11 acres in Dutchess County, just outside the hamlet of Dover Plains. The property has been hosting love affairs since the 1700s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The barn itself was built from reclaimed Hudson Valley materials, featuring hand-hewn beams, vaulted ceilings, and barn wood floors that immediately set a warm and timeless tone. Because of this, every corner of the property gives us something incredible to work with as Hudson Valley wedding photographers.

The morning began with Danielle getting ready in the charming carriage house right on the property. Meanwhile, Conner prepared across the street at the Old Drovers Inn. We love when both sides of a couple have their own distinct getting-ready spaces. It gives us the chance to capture two completely different atmospheres and moods before the day comes together.

Before the couple saw each other, Danielle shared a tender first look with her mother. These are the moments we treasure most as Hudson Valley wedding photographers. They are quiet, honest, and full of so much feeling. We always prioritize these in-between moments because they tell the full story of a wedding day.

We documented details for each half of the couple separately throughout the morning. Danielle’s details were elegant and intentional. Conner’s felt grounded and classic. The florals from Mira Mira Florals brought lush, textured beauty to every corner of the day. The team at Wedluxe Bridal Beauty made sure Danielle looked stunning from every angle. It is always a gift to photograph a bride who feels completely herself.

Danielle and Conner shared their first look in a wooded area near the Preston Barn wedding venue, surrounded by trees and dappled light. The rain had been popping in and out all morning. But as soon as we began portraits, the sky cleared. That kind of timing never gets old. As a Beacon-based photography team, we know how to read changing light and work quickly to maximize every weather window.

After the first look, we took the couple through the wooded landscape around the property. We also photographed them outside the historic Old Drovers Inn, which provides a gorgeous backdrop of old stone and ivy. The variety of portrait locations at this venue is genuinely hard to beat. Family formals followed on the lawn right outside the venue space, and we wrapped up with fun, relaxed wedding party portraits that showed off exactly how much everyone was enjoying the day.

The ceremony took place in the wooded ceremony area that Preston Barn is known for. Tall trees framed the space on all sides, and the soft green light filtering through the canopy was breathtaking. Danielle and Conner exchanged vows in a setting that felt both intimate and expansive at the same time. This is one of our favorite ceremony locations in all of Dutchess County, and it photographs beautifully in nearly any light.

Cocktail hour took place on the 40 by 50 foot Vermont stone patio, and right on cue, the sun finally made its full appearance. One of our favorite things about this Preston Barn wedding was the private cocktail hour station set up just for the couple and their inner circle. The wedding party and immediate family gathered near the ceremony space for a private toast before joining the larger celebration. It was an incredibly sweet and intentional moment. Preston Barn builds touches like this into the experience, and they make such a difference.

Once cocktail hour wrapped up, the reception began with introductions of the wedding party, followed by Danielle and Conner’s grand entrance. First dances and parent dances followed, and then Empire Sound and vocalist Jamie Lyn Florence kicked the dance floor into gear. The energy in the barn was electric. Dinner included a heartfelt speech from the bride’s father and one from a close friend of the groom.

One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the private cake cutting. Just Danielle and Conner, away from the crowd, sharing a quiet minute together. We love when couples carve out these small pockets of stillness during a busy reception. It always makes for incredibly genuine photographs. After that, the party picked right back up and the dance floor stayed packed until the very end.

As Hudson Valley wedding photographers, we are always drawn to venues that offer versatility, character, and genuine beauty. Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn delivers all three in abundance. The wooded ceremony area, the historic inn, the stone patio, the barn interiors, the surrounding landscape of Dover Plains and Dutchess County; all of it gives us so many opportunities to create photographs that truly reflect the couple.

This day came together so beautifully because of the incredible people behind it. Venue, coordination, and catering were all handled seamlessly by Preston Barn. Florals were brought to life by Mira Mira Florals, and beauty was handled by Wedluxe Bridal Beauty. Entertainment for the evening was provided by Empire Sound alongside vocalist Jamie Lyn Florence. Each vendor brought their best, and together they gave Danielle and Conner a truly unforgettable day.
