Jessica and Natalia tied the knot in an intimate backyard wedding in New York. Surrounded by close family and friends, this celebration was absolutely lovely. Taking place on a beautiful September day, they set up an arch in their yard with seating for their loved ones.

Officiated by Once Upon a Vow, this deeply personal ceremony was full of unique qualities. Going barefoot in the grass, we loved the free spirits of this NYC backyard wedding. At a private residence in Bayside, the white fence made for quite a lovely backdrop to these wedding photos.
After these two said their vows, they took a quick moment with family for some photos before heading out for their portraits. Instead of doing a first look, we took portraits after the wedding at a nearby park. The greenery of the park added to these bright and fresh intimate wedding photos in New York.

Jessica and Natalia danced, laughed, and had a fantastic time with each other. Although they have a larger wedding ceremony planned for the future, this was a great way to start the next chapter together. Some couples decided on this route during the pandemic to be able to formalize the relationship now and celebrate with a bigger group when things were safer.
One of the adorable additions to Jessica and Natalia’s celebration was their dessert table. They featured a mini donut wall, just perfect for their close family and friends in attendance. These two also had a cake to cut and celebrate their official marriage.

We can’t wait for their continued celebration of love in the future. Waiting just a little longer until things calmed down with the pandemic, these two plan to celebrate with more loved ones down the line.
These two did a great job at making a backyard wedding feel so full of life. We loved the addition of an archway for decor. They also had gorgeous florals to accompany their arch. With chairs set out in the grass, it felt like a full-on wedding celebration. Jessica and Natalia also dressed up for the occasion, making it a totally personal backyard wedding.

Some additional ways to personalize a backyard wedding are to add favors for your loved ones. For these two, we loved that they had a little dessert table and a toast with their loved ones. Another great way to make it feel full of life: having a photographer! When you have a professional NYC wedding photographer capture your celebration, they’ll help you capture the memories in an unforgettable style.
