Mollie and Rob’s gorgeous marriage celebration took place in Long Island City, NY. Their Bordone wedding was one for the books, featuring the gorgeous Manhattan skyline and a romantic overcast day. Hurricane Ida was projected to roll in during the wedding, but that didn’t stop their determination to have an outdoor summer wedding at the Bordone.
We started the day at Aloft in Long Island City, a chic and unique hotel. Mollie’s room featured gorgeous skyline views, consistent with the vibes of the rest of the day. She got ready with her closest friends and family, making for a super fun time in the bridal suite. They also had their bridal details set aside, which was perfect to do detail shots on their LIC wedding day.
Meanwhile, Rob got ready at the Bordone LIC. This New York wedding venue is great because it has multiple floors and lots of space to get ready. We also love the bright and spacious atmosphere of this event space because it allows for a ton of natural light to come through in your wedding photos.
Once both the bride and groom were ready, it was time for a first look. Mollie hired a vintage yellow cab for a little photo shoot on their wedding day. As a photo and video team, it’s always a dream to have props like this to make your wedding photography even more fun. She headed over to the venue with her mother in the yellow cab, making for fun photos on the way there.
Whether you’re hosting an intimate affair or a larger-scale celebration, having a Bordone wedding is a fantastic idea. It’s a gorgeous space in LIC for private events, featuring views of the Manhattan skyline and indoor and outdoor space. The panoramic views make for a gorgeous ceremony space or cocktail hour for your friends and family.
As a raw space wedding venue in New York, you have so much flexibility when it comes to your event design. It’s a dream venue for New York wedding photographers like us, as there is a ton of light and creativity that goes into this wedding location. You have gorgeous views of Manhattan, but also of the Queensboro Bridge and beyond.
Planned by Leah at Color Pop Events, this wild wedding went off without a hitch. We were so impressed with the gorgeous decor and exciting entertainment at this celebration. Bordone weddings can be so customizable, making for a truly unique day that suits your relationship. This raw space LIC wedding venue is made for couples with a lot of creative flair.
Mollie and Rob had their first look and portraits done on one of the rooftop floors of the Bordone wedding venue. This was great to get outdoor views of the New York skyline and the Queensboro bridge. It was a beautiful and emotional moment before the wonderful and wild wedding began. They also read some personal and private vows together during this session that were just lovely.
After their portrait session, we took their wedding party photos before the ceremony. When it comes to New York wedding photos with first looks, we try and encourage couples to get as many photos done ahead of time as possible. That way, they can enjoy as much of their wedding with family and friends as possible.
Next came the bride and groom’s ultra-personal ceremony at their Bordone wedding. With Hope at A More Perfect Union NY, they had a romantic and totally personal moment with their loved ones. The ceremony included a martini shot, a champagne fairy, and a toast before the first kiss. It’s so fun when couples incorporate their personal details into the wedding day.
During cocktail hour, the rain started to pour. Hurricane Ida came through just in time for a marvelous sunset over the city. As New York wedding photographers, nights like these are a dream. Overcast days are actually great for wedding photos because they make super soft shadows and create even lighting. Rainy nights like this can make beautiful sunsets that are full of color, which is exactly what Mollie and Rob’s Bordone wedding had at their cocktail hour.
We loved that these two took the advice we gave during their engagement photo session in DUMBO. As Hudson Valley wedding photographers, it’s important for us to educate our clients on things like first kiss posing and getting comfortable. These two took our suggestions to heart and made for some amazing, romantic wedding photos at the Bordone.
Mollie and Rob’s Bordone wedding reception was a ton of fun, featuring speeches, dances, and a sing along. The bride’s family members sang the song ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’ while the whole room sang along. There were also very personal speeches from loved ones that made the night feel so special.
You can always take wedding photos at the Bordone in LIC, bu tthere are also a few great psots to take wedding photos in the area. Heading to Gantry Plaza State Park can be a great idea for couples who want to get more of a fresh air vibe and more of the waterfront. There’s also Hunter’s Point South Park with lots of unique spaces to take romantic wedding photos in Long Island City.
This Bordone wedding in Long Island City is one for the books, that’s for sure. We love this New York City wedding venue because of the stunning views and raw space. It’s great for couples to find a creative way to make this venue their own. If you’re thinking about getting married at this LIC event space, let us know – we’d love to capture your celebration.
