We are Megan and Kenneth, Hudson Valley engagement photographers based in beautiful Beacon, New York. We recently photographed LGBTQ engagement photos at Stonecrop Gardens in Cold Spring. Jess and Sakira chose this beautiful garden for their engagement session. We loved every single minute of this gorgeous photo shoot together.
Planning LGBTQ Engagement Photos At Stonecrop Gardens
Stonecrop Gardens sits quietly along a wooded hillside in Cold Spring, New York. The grounds feature sweeping mountain views and lush greenery throughout the summer. We often suggest this peaceful location for couples seeking a romantic backdrop. As Beacon wedding photographers, we always search for inspiring settings nearby.
A Gorgeous Setting for a Hudson Valley Engagement Photo Shoot
Stonecrop Gardens opens for photography on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays only. Sessions run from ten in the morning until five in the evening. A permit is required before any couple plans LGBTQ engagement photos at Stonecrop Gardens. We always recommend booking an afternoon slot for softer light.
Why Afternoon Light Works Best For Photos
The afternoon sun sits much lower across the Hudson Valley sky each day. This softer, warmer light flatters every couple during their engagement photos together. Harsh midday sun can create unwanted shadows across faces and shoulders outdoors. Afternoon sessions simply photograph more naturally and comfortably for everyone involved.
Exploring The Conservatory And Flower Garden
We started this engagement session inside the historic Conservatory building first thing. Glass walls and lush greenery create a dreamy, romantic atmosphere here. From there, we wandered through the vibrant flower garden, perfect for LGBTQ engagement photos at Stonecrop Gardens. Color bursts from every single direction during peak summer bloom season.
LGBTQ Engagement Photos At Stonecrop Gardens Near The Main House
The Main House anchors the entire property with timeless architectural charm and detail. Stone walls and climbing vines frame every photo beautifully near here. We photographed Jess and Sakira laughing together on the worn front steps. Visitors can learn more through the Stonecrop visitor information page before booking a visit.
Magic Beneath The Wisteria Pergola
The Wisteria Pergola offers one of the most romantic photo spots around. Dappled light filters softly through hanging blooms during sunny summer afternoons. Jess and Sakira walked hand in hand beneath the vines here. We captured some favorite LGBTQ engagement photos at Stonecrop Gardens in this spot.
A Sunny Summer Afternoon Full Of Laughter
Their session took place on a bright, warm, sunny summer afternoon outdoors. Jess and Sakira could not stop giggling throughout the entire shoot together. Their warm joy radiated through every single frame we captured together. Genuine, easy laughter always makes for the very best engagement photos overall.
Jess And Sakira A Decade Of Love
Jess and Sakira have been together for well over a full decade. Their comfort with each other showed in every single relaxed pose together. They know each other so well after all these years together. That deep bond made their LGBTQ engagement photos at Stonecrop Gardens feel effortless and easy.
Capturing Authentic Connection During Their Photo Shoot
We never ask any couple to fake their chemistry for the camera ever. Jess and Sakira simply needed space to be themselves together outdoors. Their natural ease created some of our favorite images from the entire day. Authentic connection always photographs better than posed, stiff moments ever do.
What Makes LGBTQ Engagement Photos At Stonecrop Gardens Special
Every couple deserves a space where their love feels celebrated openly and warmly. LGBTQ engagement photos at Stonecrop Gardens carry that same sense of joy. Jess and Sakira moved through the gardens without a hint of hesitation. Their easy confidence made the entire afternoon feel relaxed and unhurried.

Tips For Your Own Engagement Session In Cold Spring
Plan your visit carefully around the limited available photography days at Stonecrop Gardens. Afternoon light remains our top recommendation for any engagement session here. Bring a few light layers, since garden temperatures can shift throughout a long afternoon. Comfortable shoes also help while walking between the Conservatory and Main House.
