We’ve lost count of how many couples we’ve photographed in Central Park, but it must be well over a hundred by now! That being said, each and every time is special and unique because the couple brings something to it themselves. When Jessica and Gregg went to take Central Park elopement photos with us, we absolutely adored the energy they brought to their session.
Central Park in the summer is a truly special experience. The lush green grass and the cooling breeze that flows through the trees make it an ideal place for taking elopement photos. For these NYC elopement photos, we wanted to incorporate all of these elements, and we were able to do so by having Gregg and Jessica take turns running throughout Central Park while we captured them from multiple angles.
The atmosphere was relaxed, fun, and not too stressful because we were in such a beautiful setting. We’re always happy to capture single photo sessions like this one in order to show people that they don’t need an over-the-top wedding celebration in order to be married!
It’s pretty common to have small Central Park weddings take place. This is one of the most popular elopement locations in the city. As New York wedding photographers, we are in awe of the beauty of the landscape in this iconic place. We love taking couples around the most iconic parts of the park.
The morning started by Gapstow Bridge and the pond. This is a great starting point because the bridge makes for a romantic backdrop. It feels like it’s out of a storybook. There are so many nooks and crannies in Central Park to take more intimate photos, which is refreshing for NYC elopements. Everything feels so grandiose, but at the same time it’s easy to find hidden spots. This makes elopement photoshoots in Central Park extra special!
The right light can make or break your New York wedding photos which is why we start as early as possible. During summer Central Park elopements, we ask that couples come out at sunrise for their photography session. This is because the light is most beautiful. It’s also the least crowded time in the park before the tourists and large groups arrive.
We always love having couples in their wedding attire in the park. It’s so stunning that it deserves to be captured in its best light! In our opinion, Central Park wedding photography is some of the most classic and romantic around. Jessica and Gregg then headed off to Literary Walk/The Mall, a truly iconic location. This spot has been featured in countless movies and TV shows because of the beautiful tree arch.
The most memorable part of Central Park has got to be Bethesda Terrace and Fountain. This is one of the main attractions in the park because it’s simply breathtaking! We’ve had many couples choose this location for elopements, and we don’t blame them. The fountain and statues at the Terrace are so enchanting, couples can’t help but have their New York wedding photographers capture them in front of it.
There are tons of other beautiful spots around this area of the park. From the bandshell to Bow Bridge, you have lots of options. We love capturing Central Park elopement photos in all of these locations. Thankfully, they’re super closely packed together making for an easy trip around. We will definitely say that it’s important to wear walking shoes in the process of taking your New York wedding photos in the park.
As NYC wedding photographers, taking Central Park elopement photos is one of our favorite things to do. The versatile locations and lovely light make for some stunning memories to capture forever. An important part of our process is also getting couples comfortable for the camera ahead of time. Jessica and Gregg had done an engagement shoot with us in the past, making it much easier to work together to create beautiful images. They knew exactly what to do to get the best candid New York wedding photography.
We’re a married team who are passionate about capturing NYC elopements because of our love for photography. We enjoy the opportunity to create lasting memories by taking New York wedding photos. The first thing we do when starting a New York elopement shoot is to find out what each couple is looking for. Different clients want different things, which is why it’s important to know what you want beforehand. Then, we’ll figure out where to go in Central Park to take your New York wedding photos after that! All locations are pretty close together making any trip around this stunning location not feel like too much of a hassle.
We can’t wait to go back and take NYC wedding photos for another couple. It’s such a treat every time we get the chance! Jessica and Gregg had such great energy during their session, it made our work that much easier. We hope you enjoy some of our favorite Central Park elopement photos from this beautiful summer wedding.
