Gorgeous Springtime Bow Bridge Wedding in Central Park with Cherry Blossoms

There is no time more romantic in New York City than the springtime, that’s for sure. When the Central Park cherry blossoms are out and in bloom, it’s truly a magical time. So having Lucy and Pablo reach out to us about capturing their intimate Bow Bridge wedding was an absolute dream for us.

Spring Wedding Photos in Central Park

There’s something about the light in the city during the spring that is so romantic and beautiful. Especially early in the morning, you can have soft and beautiful lighting in your Bow Bridge wedding photos like these two. We always encourage couples thinking about a Central Park elopement to go as early as possible before tourists arrive to the park.

Bow Bridge Wedding Ceremony on a Spring Day

A super romantic spot to get married, Bow Bridge is perfect for intimate weddings and elopements. Working with Once Upon a Vow, these two had an ultra personal ceremony that was one for the books. The best part is that they opted to have a New York photo and video team there to capture not just photography, but a highlight reel film as well.

Morning Elopements in Central Park, NY

When couples having intimate Bow Bridge weddings decide to tie the knot, it’s definitely important to consider time of day and weather conditions. Later in the day, you can expect lots of people on this bridge taking personal and professional photos. But early in the morning, the most you’ll see is often dog walkers and runners.

We started the Central Park wedding day off at the opening of the park on the south east side. This put us right by the pond and Gapstow Bridge, a gorgeous place for elopement photography in New York City. These two loosened up and had fun right away for their photo session which was just perfect.

Lucy and Pablo then made their way over to Literary Walk/The Mall for more romantic elopement photos in Central Park. This is one of the top spots to take pictures in all the city. That’s because it’s been used in tons of films and TV shows, showing off its beautiful canopy of trees. In any season, this spot is a highly desired wedding photo location in NYC.

We then made our way over for some Bethesda Terrace elopement photos. At this point, we can’t even count how many times we’ve visited this iconic location. We love it all the same every single time – it’s just so gorgeous. Lucy and Pablo danced to the songs of a guitar that a gentleman was playing under the Arcade at Bethesda.

Bow Bridge Wedding Ceremony in April During Springtime

Finally, it was time for their Bow Bridge wedding ceremony. We went over to the bridge to find it quite empty given that we’d started so early in the day. It was awesome to have things kept intimate for their low-key celebration of love. Dani from Once Upon a Vow made things super easy and beautiful for their elopement ceremony in Central Park.

After the ceremony, we made our way over to some cherry blossoms for photos. In Central Park, you can find cherry blossoms, apple trees, magnolias, crabapples, and other gorgeous blooms in the spring. As New York wedding photographers, we love capturing these gorgeous flowers in the season. They’re only there for a few weeks and it’s important to capture them while we can.
