Jaclyn and Mike had a unique milling room wedding in New York City. This intimate wedding venue in the upper West side is perfect for couples looking for a totally different event space. As New York wedding photographers, we love capturing beautiful locations like this. Although it was a rainy fall day, we managed to get some fun, candid wedding photos.
Jaclyn and Mike had a Milling Room wedding in the Upper West Side of NYC. This intimate restaurant wedding venue in New York was the perfect place for these two to tie the knot. They had a unique wedding on a rainy day. It started hailing in the middle of their day, but that didn’t stop this couple from taking fun, candid wedding photos in the city. We played by ear when it came to taking their wedding portraits in the city since the weather was so moody. Thankfully, we got shots with fall foliage throughout the city. We loved capturing this unique Milling Room wedding on the UWS in New York.
We decided to do the first look just down the block, making it easy for the couple to head outside with umbrellas. Since it was a temperamental weather day for their New York City wedding photos, we kept things concise. It’s a great idea to do the first look prior to the ceremony, because with fall weddings, the sun sets super early. We want to make sure to get some nice, natural light wedding photos in NYC ahead of time.
We also got some fantastic bridal party pictures inside the Arthouse Hotel and outside. They came out looking dashing in their fall wedding suits. We highly recommend getting your family and wedding party photos during this last bit of daylight so they can be taken care of before the ceremony as well. It allows for couples to enjoy their cocktail hour without worrying about photos.
The Milling Room wedding in NYC had some amazing details that we really loved. With florals by Nicole Absher, these really brought out the elements of fall in the restaurant event space. Before the Milling Room wedding photos, we did a first look with the couple. Although we had planned to take Central Park wedding photos, the weather put us in a different direction. Since it was hailing outside, we kept the candid wedding photos outdoors to a minimum.
The Milling Room has an industrial decor with white tablecloths, which is perfect for any photo ideas you may have! First dance pictures are always one of our favorites to capture at every wedding we attend since it’s sentimental and special for newlyweds. The Milling Room New York City venue is a perfect place for wedding receptions of all sizes throughout the year. Their wide range of food options make this restaurant NYC location a popular pick with couples planning weddings in the city.
As New York wedding photographers, we have a few tips to stay comfortable in wedding photos. Whether you’re experiencing a chilly, rainy day like these two or a hot one, we’ve got ideas. Number one tip is to go with the flow. For autumn weddings in the city, you can’t always predict the weather. It’s best to let nature take its course and let your fun, candid wedding photographers adjust.
Another tip for comfortable NYC wedding photos is to stay hydrated. Taking breaks to hydrate throughout the day makes your skin glow, and lets you stay energized. If it’s chilly, also make sure to bring a jacket to pop in and out of for your wedding photos. You won’t want to look cold even if you feel a little shivery. Maintaining warmth is important for your fall wedding photos, so dress accordingly.
Since Milling Room weddings are intimate affairs with a smaller guest count, it’s best to keep your guest list to your close loved ones. This venue is located on the upper west side of the city. It’s a wonderful location since you can get to Central Park within minutes just by walking from the venue. There are also a ton of hotels nearby, so this location allows for ease in travel.
Not only are Milling Room weddings great because of their unique decor and quaint feel, they also have fantastic food options! Many couples choose Milling Room NYC venues for their open bar package too which makes their event truly special. The room makes it easy to move tables around for a more personal event. You can also decorate this restaurant event space with your own florals, which is great for creative couples.
This Milling Room wedding in NYC was intimate and unique. We wish these two all the best on their married life together! Congratulations Jaclyn & Mike.
