As the most popular spot in New York City to take pre-wedding photos, this spot is popular at all times of year. But what’s the best time of year for Central Park engagement photos? As top Hudson Valley wedding photographers, we are happy to share our different tips for the seasons of Manhattan.
When it comes to taking outdoor engagement photos, timing is everything. Different times of year yield different results. The most important part of doing Central Park engagement photos, for our team, is to do them at sunrise. In the summer that is quite early. In the winter it’s a little later. It gives you the best possible experience without too many tourists in the area.
One of the busiest times of year for Central Park engagement photography is springtime. This is because cherry hill and the surrounding areas are full of gorgeous blossoms. If you want lots of color, particularly pinks and lighter shades, and your images then spring is the time for you. It’s a very romantic season for pre-wedding photography in New York City. However, spring is also quite unpredictable and it’s never certain when the blossoms will come and go. That’s why booking ahead of time can be quite difficult for your New York engagement photographer.

In the summer, the city is very hot. However, at sunrise, a Central Park engagement photo shoot, can be quite easy to maneuver. It just means that you have to wake a little bit earlier. There will be lush greenery in the park which makes for a great, colorful backdrop. You can also use the rowboats, which can make for fun photography props in your engagement pictures.

Fall is also a very popular time to take Central Park engagement photos. This is because of the lush foliage throughout the park. However, the foliage times can also be quite unpredictable in New York City. These can range anytime from late October to mid-November. You’ll want to watch the colors to see what the best time is to book your photo shoot.

Winter engagement photos in Central Park can be a toss-up. There are no leaves on the trees, so it is a little less photogenic. There is also not much snow in New York City, at least for the last few years. However, you can still take gorgeous photos in the park with the iconic structures of Bethesda Terrace, Gapstow Bridge, Bow Bridge, and more. There are lots of scenic locations that make it easy to photograph at any time of year.

When it comes to the best time of year for Central Park, engagement photos, there are no wrong answers. However, we find that spring and fall are the most photogenic times to take your pictures. As top New York City wedding, photographers, we recommend getting ahead of the curve and booking your session ASAP. Reach out and let us know if you want to take Central Park engagement photography. We would love to help bring your vision to life.
