Angela and Meghan’s High Line proposal in NYC was one of those moments we’ll keep in our hearts forever. Not only did Angela propose to Meghan, but Meghan proposed to Angela right back. These two popped the question to each other on Christmas Eve in Manhattan. It was a New York moment straight out of a movie.
Stunning LGBTQ+ High Line Proposal on Christmas Eve
When Angela first reached out to us, she had suspected that Meghan might propose back to her. Regardless, she wanted to be the one to pop the question first. She chose the High Line proposal because of a romantic spot where she envisioned it happening.
Proposing on the High Line in Manhattan
Meghan and Angela arrived in Manhattan and went toward the High Line. Angela had told her there was something they were heading to at Hudson Yards. The lighting was up around the area and it was super romantic. These two started their walk up the scenic New York park above the city, while we followed behind them.
Iconic New York Engagement Photography
To our surprise, Meghan asked us to take a photo of the two of them. This was even better than the original plan we were going to do. We told Meghan we’d take one on our camera and send it to them later – the perfect excuse to shoot this soon-to-be proposal.

Angela then dropped down on one knee and popped the question. This High Line proposal took place with an iconic Manhattan view in the background. Meghan was so excited, surprised and happy – and started to tell Angela she was proposing next. It was such a sweet moment between the two of them.

We walked along a little further to take some NYC engagement photos. This Christmas Eve proposal was made even more perfect with the Christmas lights up at Hudson Yards. We took some lovely posed photos with these two together. It was a bit suspenseful knowing that Meghan was ready to propose at any moment.

Finally, Meghan took a knee and did her High Line proposal for Angela. It was such a dream as Hudson Valley proposal photographers to do these Christmas proposals together. Having one question asked is one thing, but two surprise proposals made our whole evening. We then walked over to Hudson Yards for a few more engagement photos.

As we took their photos, it started to rain so it was time to say goodnight. It was a huge honor to capture this special LGBTQ+ New York proposal. These two proposed on Christmas Eve in the city because they wanted to spend Christmas morning engaged and tell their families.
