He had been planning this proposal for a long time in advance and the day had finally come. There was rain on the forecast but thankfully it cleared just in time. We were met with some lovely overcast weather for these New York proposal photos. Overcast weather is actually perfect for engagement photos because it doesn’t create harsh shadows and gives you nice even lighting.

Ian’s surprise restaurant proposal photos were made even better because he showed up early to meet with us. We all wanted to take a look at the space and decide on the best location. The proposal ended up happening in a corner of Hudson Clearwater’s backyard patio, featuring rustic décor. There were also string lights hanging, adding to the romantic atmosphere.

Jacqueline was brought through a door to the backyard to see Ian there waiting for her. It was an awesome moment to capture the reaction. She truly had no idea what was happening and it was such a beautiful surprise to have this restaurant proposal in NYC. Ian took a knee and told her so many wonderful things before asking the big question.
