Noelle and Eric had a stunning engagement session in Central Park during peak foliage. We felt so lucky capturing this love story in the heart of Manhattan. As New York engagement photographers, we can only hope for days as lovely as this one. These two dressed to the nines in their cutest autumn attire.
Engagement Photos at Bow Bridge During the Fall
We started off their Central Park engagement session at Bow Bridge. This is one of the most romantic spots in NYC. It’s no wonder this is a favorite spot for proposals. The Bow Bridge in Central Park is one of the most iconic spots in the park. It was built in 1862 and is a picturesque bridge that crosses the Pond. Marvel in the bridge design by Calvert Vaux and Jacob Wrey Mould.
Peak Foliage Times in Central Park for Engagement Photos
We started our session on the bridge, and then wandered around the rest of the park. The colors were just starting to change and it was so beautiful! We ended up in front of the Bethesda Terrace and Fountain next. The peak foliage season in Central Park is typically in late October or early November. The leaves can sometimes start to change color in September, but the best time to see the fall colors is in late October.
Bethesda Terrace Engagement Session in Central Park
The Bethesda Terrace and Fountain are located in the center of Central Park in Manhattan, New York City. The terrace overlooks the Lake and is flanked by two grand staircases. It was designed by Jacob Wrey Mould and completed in 1859. The fountain is a popular tourist attraction at the center of Betheseda Terrace.
Iconic NYC Engagement Photos at Bethesda Fountain
The terrace features a series of arches that line the sides of the staircase. The terrace is composed of three arches about tall and twenty-two arches 24 feet (7.3 m) high. Because the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission wanted to maintain views of both Bethesda Fountain and the Dakota apartment building, which faces Central Park West, it was unable to establish a setback for the southern portion of the retaining wall.
Engagement Photography at The Mall in Central Park
From Bethesda Terrace we went to check out some fall leaves in the park. We ventured around looking for a good spot and found the mall, an iconic and cinematic location. If you’re having a fall engagement session in Central Park, don’t skip out on The Mall.
Jaw-Dropping Fall Engagement Photos in Central Park at the Mall
The Mall is an iconic and cinematic location in Central Park where you can find some of the most beautiful, blossoming tree branches. Built by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux in 1858, this promenade runs across the northern end of the park. The Mall is there to connect The Ramble and Conservatory Water. We love the design of this iconic New York park. As top New York wedding photographers, this is one of the best places to take photos because of its ease to move around.
Gapstow Pond Engagement Photography in the Autumn
We finished our walk around for their engagement session in Central Park at Gapstow Pond. This stunning location is a great spot for sunrise and morning engagement photos. The pond is a beautiful place to relax and take in the natural beauty of Central Park.
Romantic Engagement Session in Central Park with Fall Foliage
We had the most amazing time photographing Noelle and Eric’s Central Park engagement session. The fall foliage was just starting to change and the colors were beautiful. We loved capturing their love story in this iconic location. If you’re looking for a romantic and stunning fall engagement session in Central Park, autumn is the time to go.
