Estee and Matthew were married in a backyard in Rhinebeck, NY, over Labor Day weekend. Their day started with a first look under a willow tree in the yard. After the first look, we moved through the yard for portraits. The pond gave us a still, reflective backdrop for the couple. A patch of wildflowers nearby added texture and color to nearly every frame. Family Photos Among the Wildflowers

We gathered both families near the same wildflower patch for group portraits. Soft afternoon light filtered through the flowers and kept everyone comfortable. Parents, siblings, and close relatives rotated through in small groups. A Ketubah Signing Before the Micro Wedding Ceremony

Inside the house, Estee and Matthew signed their ketubah with both sets of parents present. The room was quiet and full of quick, happy tears. This kind of moment is why we love documenting Jewish wedding traditions. Walking Down the Aisle Together

The ceremony took place outside under a beautiful chuppah. Estee’s parents began walking her down the aisle first. Partway through, Matthew met her and walked the rest of the way together. Seven Circles and Seven Blessings

The couple continued with the tradition of seven circles beneath the chuppah. Afterward, family and friends offered seven blessings over the marriage. Matthew stomped the glass to close the ceremony, and the yard erupted in cheers. Cocktail Hour by the Pool at This Intimate Wedding

Cocktail hour spread out around the pool, giving guests a bright, easy space to mingle. The water added a nice shimmer to photos as the light softened. Drinks and appetizers moved steadily as guests caught up with each other. The tent gave everyone shade earlier in the evening and warmth once the sun went down. Catering and Music That Kept the Backyard Wedding Lively

The catering throughout the night was consistently excellent. Guests kept commenting on the food between courses. Meanwhile, the DJ kept energy high from the very first song. That combination is a big part of what makes a small wedding reception feel full and lively.

A First Dance to How Deep Is Your Love

Estee and Matthew were introduced into the tent to loud applause. They moved straight into their first dance to How Deep Is Your Love by the Bee Gees. It was a sweet, unhurried moment before the rest of the night picked up. The Hora Takes Over the Dance Floor

Right after the first dance, the hora took over the floor. Guests lifted Estee and Matthew into chairs as the music picked up speed. Laughter and clapping filled the tent for several minutes straight. It is always one of the most joyful parts of a Jewish wedding reception.

Heartfelt Speeches From Family

Once everyone sat down for salads, three speeches followed. Both fathers spoke first, each sharing stories about the couple. An uncle closed out the toasts with a warm, funny speech of his own. After speeches, the dance floor filled back up for another stretch of the night. Guests stayed out late, clearly not ready for the evening to end. Estee and Matthew spent this time laughing with friends and family.
