We're Beacon-based Hudson Valley & Catskills wedding + elopement photographers who love to capture natural, authentic moments for all couples in love.
Sarah and Alec’s City Winery Hudson Valley wedding was one of our most fun days this summer. As a married team, we covered both their wedding photography and videography from start to finish. Their day moved from quiet getting ready moments to a packed dance floor. Along the way, it included a mascot, an outfit change, and an espresso martini cart.

City Winery Hudson Valley sits inside a restored mill building in Montgomery, NY, right along the Wallkill River. The property mixes industrial character with vineyard rows, open courtyards, and plenty of greenery. For photographers, that variety means we can find a new backdrop every few minutes. You can see more of the event spaces on the City Winery Hudson Valley weddings page. We always look forward to working here.

First, Sarah got ready in The Nest while Alec settled into The Boiler Bar. Meanwhile, we split up so one of us could cover each side of the prep. Both spaces offer strong character, which makes getting ready coverage at a City Winery Hudson Valley wedding easy. As a result, we captured details, nerves, and laughs on both sides before they saw each other.

Next, Sarah and Alec shared a first look in the trees just outside The Nest. The weather was beautiful, with warm sun filtering through the leaves. We kept our distance and let the moment unfold on its own. After that, they had a few quiet minutes together before portraits began.

Once they were ready, we set off on a portrait tour of the whole property. First, we photographed them outside The Nest barn building, then moved over to the courtyard. From there, we stopped in The Boiler Bar and walked out into the vineyard. Finally, we finished by the ceremony site along the river. This loop is our favorite way to show off a City Winery Hudson Valley wedding.

Our style leans documentary, so we give couples simple prompts instead of stiff poses. Sarah and Alec were easy to guide and even easier to laugh with. The sunshine gave us bright, glowing light for this part of the afternoon. As Hudson Valley wedding photographers, we see a lot of couples, and these two stood out. Their portraits feel relaxed, warm, and true to who they are.

After portraits, we moved into the ceremony space for family photos. This spot makes a clean, green backdrop for family formals at any City Winery Hudson Valley wedding. We worked through the list quickly so everyone could get back to celebrating. Meanwhile, the wedding party gathered nearby, ready for their turn in front of the camera.

Next, we photographed the wedding party, and this group brought serious energy. We tried some long exposure shots with everyone moving around Sarah and Alec while the couple stayed still. The result is a soft blur of friends with the two of them sharp in the middle. After that, we let them loose for plenty of laughing, cheering, and hugging.

Then it was time for the ceremony along the river. The clouds rolled in just in time, giving us perfect overcast light. Sunny portraits followed by a soft, even ceremony is the best of both worlds for us. Guests gathered among the greenery as Sarah and Alec’s City Winery Hudson Valley wedding ceremony began. As a result, every expression came through clearly, with no harsh shadows or squinting.

After the ceremony, cocktail hour began in the courtyard. Guests enjoyed great food and drinks while catching up with one another. Meanwhile, we moved between groups to capture candids and the details of the setup. The courtyard is a relaxed space where conversation flows easily. It is one of our favorite cocktail hour spots in Montgomery, NY.

Once cocktail hour wrapped, everyone headed into the reception space. Sarah and Alec were introduced and went straight into their first dance. After that, the DJ opened the floor for a dance set that got everyone moving. Our City Winery Hudson Valley wedding coverage shifted into full party mode from there.

Next came a couple of toasts from people close to the couple. Then Sarah and Alec shared parent dances, which were some of our favorite moments of the night. Dinner followed, and a few more toasts kept the room laughing between courses. We always cover speeches from multiple angles so we catch both the speaker and the couple’s reactions. Working as a married team makes this easy.

Then came one of the biggest surprises of the night. Otto the Orange, the Syracuse University mascot, made a special appearance on the dance floor. Guests cheered, grabbed their phones, and lined up for photos. Our Beacon-based photography team was laughing right along with everyone. This is exactly the kind of unscripted moment we love at a City Winery Hudson Valley wedding.

Later on, Sarah slipped away for an outfit change. She came back out with an espresso martini cart, walking in to Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter. The room went wild, and the cart was a hit for the rest of the night. It was a playful, perfectly timed entrance that matched their personalities.

After that, emo hour officially began. Sarah, Alec, and their friends sang along to every song at full volume. They danced the night away, and we stayed right in the middle of it with them. The energy never dropped, which made for some of our favorite reception images and video clips. It was the perfect ending to a City Winery Hudson Valley wedding full of personality.

Covering both photography and videography for these two was a blast. They trusted us, stayed present, and fully enjoyed every part of their day. As Hudson Valley wedding photographers, we love working at venues with this much variety. Thank you, Sarah and Alec, for having us along for the ride.

This day came together thanks to a talented group of vendors. Floral design came from TK Floral Designs, and iReserve DJ kept the dance floor packed. Sarah wore a gown by Jenny Yoo, and Alec wore a suit from Suitsupply. Her hair was by Jennifer Victoria Beauty, and her makeup was by Christina Delfino Makeup. Finally, Dash Media Design handled content creation throughout the day.
