It’s not often that we take Williamsburg engagement photos, but when we do, it’s a ton of fun! Alyse and Joey came out for a colorful engagement session in Brooklyn. As the spring blossoms just started to bloom, we also got some colorful images with trees in the neighborhood.
Colorful Street Art Williamsburg Engagement Photos
Alyse and Joe were always interested in iconic images of colorful street art. So when we started our session, they brought along some colorful clothes to complement the brick buildings behind them. We also got some casual shots of them walking through Brooklyn.
Iconic Engagement Photography at Bushwick Inlet Park
Spring was a great time for these engagement photos because it’s a nice transition from winter into spring. The trees had blossoms on them which made for a perfect backdrop while we took photographs in Bushwick Inlet Park. Even though this is a busy New York City landmark, it felt like there was no one else around.
Walking Through the Streets of Williamsburg for a Photo Shoot
We did their session fairly close to their wedding day. Marrying at 74Wythe in just a few weeks, this neighborhood was perfect. Before touring the venue, we walked through the streets to take Williamsburg engagement photos. The blossoming florals and colorful walls went perfectly with Alyse’s dress.
Popping Champagne for Engagement Photos at Bushwick Inlet Park
Alyse brought the bubbly with her, so we popped a bottle of champagne for their engagement photos. As we walked through the park and photographing them, we got some candid images of them holding up their champagne bottle.
Preparing for Their Wedding at 74Wythe
After their session in Bushwick Inlet Park, we headed over to 74Wythe where they were married just a few weeks later! The venue has some gorgeous views of the city, and is perfect for couples who love Williamsburg. We were able to get some gorgeous shots of Alyse and Joe before heading back home.
Where to Take Engagement Photos in Brooklyn
As far as the location of their engagement session, we took them to a few different venues. We had some fun with colorful images in Bushwick Inlet Park, and also photographed them in front of the iconic street art of the neighborhood. While their session was short since the sun was setting, we did get a lot of stunning shots of these two.
When Should You Take Engagement Photos Before the Wedding?
Alyse and Joey’s engagement photos came shortly before their wedding. They were perfect for them because it gave them a chance to get used to being in front of the camera. It also allowed us to see how they interact together, which made it easier to photograph them on their wedding day.
How Soon Should Engagement Photos Be Taken in New York?
As far as timing, there are pros and cons with taking engagement photos months or even weeks before your wedding. The sooner you take them before the wedding, the fresher you’ll feel with your New York wedding photographers. However, as a Brooklyn photo and video team, we love to take engagement photos as far as a year out or so. If you do them that far out, they can be used for save-the-dates.
