Alyse and Joey tied the knot at the stunning and brand-new Brooklyn wedding venue, 74Wythe. These two were literally the second wedding ever hosted at this stunning event space. We were so impressed with the gorgeous ceremony and reception space… and the ability to have an outdoor wedding, even in the pouring rain. Don’t worry, we’ll get to that part of the story!
This beautiful couple started the day across the street at the William Vale hotel. 74Wythe is conveniently located in the heart of Williamsburg, right by some of the best hotels in NYC to get ready on your wedding day. Adjacent to the William Vale, you also have the option of getting ready at the Hoxton Hotel, the Williamsburg Hotel, the Wythe Hotel, and the McCarren Hotel. You can get ready within walking distance of this stunning Brooklyn wedding venue.
For couples who want to get ready at the venue itself, there’s also an intimate suite available for getting ready. Alyse and Joey spent some time in the suite ahead of their wedding ceremony, signing their license and doing final touches before the big moment. 74Wythe is an expansive wedding venue in New York, giving multiple options for the spaces you can use for the big day.
Of all the venues in Brooklyn, we were super impressed with this new outdoor space wedding venue. With stunning views of Manhattan, you have it all at 74Wythe: a modern, versatile, and oh-so ‘New York’ event space without leaving the core of Brooklyn.
The team of vendors was absolutely phenomenal for this 74Wythe wedding. Olivia Howard Designs put together a beautiful floral design for the ceremony and for their personal florals. We were so impressed by the color scheme and overall look and feel of the ceremony. Ani Wolff was the coordinator for the day, keeping things totally in line and well taken care of for the couple.
We were so honored when Alyse and Joey chose us to capture their 74Wythe wedding. Given that it was the second wedding ever at this venue, we were so excited and curious to capture the space with these two! During their engagement shoot, we even took a venue walkthrough together to get the lay of the land.
Doing a walkthrough with our couple was super helpful to understand how the flow of the day would work. At wedding venues in NYC, sometimes the multi-floor layouts can be confusing on a wedding day. That’s why we were so grateful to have the opportunity to tour ahead of time with Alyse and Joey.
On this rainy wedding day, Alyse and Joey made the most of it. They had their first look directly across the street from the William Vale hotel, where there was a perfectly covered area. With exposed brick walls as their backdrop, these two saw each other for the first time. Dancing, laughing, hugging, and kissing, these two couldn’t get enough of each other!
We love the whole area your wedding day is spent in when you have a 74Wythe wedding. You have the versatility of heading over to Marsha P Johnson for the NYC skyline or hanging around the beautiful streets of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. There are no wrong answers here! This remarkable wedding venue in Brooklyn, NY is conveniently located around a number of hotels, bars, and restaurants.
After doing the first look and some rainy portraits outdoors, we headed into 74Wythe for more wedding photos. This versatile New York wedding venue has tons of photogenic locations for taking super unique wedding photos. For Alyse and Joey, we got the party started in the iconic J Bird lounge.
This vintage-inspired area has a large bar, stunning lighting, and thoroughly unique furniture. A gorgeous room in the heart of the building, this unique spot makes for the best possible photo location. You can do your couples photos here, wedding party photos, or even host an intimate cocktail hour with loved ones! We adore the attention to detail at 74Wythe, making it a well-thought-out wedding venue for photography and videography.
We packed Alyse and Joey’s large bridal party into the lounge at JBird for some super fun photos. We love the look and feel of this room, making it the perfect photo spot. That being said, it is a bit tight for group photos, so if you have a more intimate crew, definitely consider taking photos in JBird.
As far as NYC wedding venues go, 74Wythe definitely keeps it unique. We’re so impressed with the stylistic choices of this venue, perfect for couples who have a mix of classy and eclectic tastes. Plus, as far as weddings in the rain go, you can’t go wrong with this venue. Their gorgeous rooftop space with views of Manhattan is perfect for an outdoor ceremony in any weather.
Alyse and Joey took photos with family and friends in the Crow’s Nest before the ceremony. This spot above the main rooftop space is a fantastic nook at 74Wythe to take photos at. You can celebrate with your family and friends while sharing the gorgeous view of the Empire State Building and beyond. Having your wedding celebration at this versatile space gives you a wide range of photos that take advantage of both gorgeous design and natural light.
With capacity for anywhere between 150-300 guests, your Williamsburg wedding at 74Wythe can be an intimate occasion or a blowout bash. It’s one of those absolutely amazing spaces that is so versatile and beautiful and can accommodate tons of different occasions. You can rent individual spaces or the venue exclusively depending on your needs.
Alyse and Joey’s ceremony took place on the main rooftop, taking in the natural, even light that an overcast day in Brooklyn provides. We love capturing weddings on rainy days – although you may hope for sunshine on the big day, having an overcast day makes for stunning even lighting. The rainy day softens shadows, giving you an ultra-flattering lighting situation.
As these two began the ceremony, the sky opened up for a downpour. They were fully protected under the glass rooftop, making for a perfect outdoor ceremony. We loved that the layout of the rooftop ceremony space at 74Wythe featured the stunning view of the Manhattan skyline. Hey, if you’ve got it, why not flaunt it?!
As the rain continued through the ceremony, it didn’t put a damper on Alyse and Joey’s beautiful Brooklyn wedding. There may have even been a tear or two shed during vows that were blamed on the rain… a perfect excuse! We gave Alyse and Joey the advice that when they go for their first kiss, dip back just a little bit – it makes for an even more iconic ‘first kiss’ photo. They definitely followed through with a magnificent kiss! After they tied the knot, it was time to get the party started.
The rooftop was quickly converted into a dinner space while guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the lower and upper portions of the rooftop. The crow’s nest made for a beautiful view as the sun set, and the lower roof space had an additional bar for guests to enjoy. Alyse and Joey took some time during cocktail hour to connect via Zoom with guests who weren’t able to make it on the big day. Although they were surrounded by so many loved ones, some could not make it into the city for this beautiful occasion.
Beneath the retractable glass rooftop, the party began. After the guests were served their meals, it was time to party party party! The dance floor lit up with laughter and joy while Alyse and Joey boogied down. This indoor/outdoor space was perfect for the dance floor, giving them a cool evening breeze while the party got started. We loved seeing the sparkly skyline behind these two as they had their ‘main character’ moments on the dance floor. Overall, an unforgettable occasion.
We loved shooting at this venue – in fact, we were attending the second wedding ever hosted there! Alyse and Joey rocked their 74Wythe wedding, and we can’t wait to go back for more special events like this. From the stunning JBird cocktail lounge to all 15,000 square feet of gorgeous space at the venue, the photos taken and memories made at this venue are unforgettable.
