There’s nothing quite like a Hudson Highlands Preserve engagement to celebrate your love in nature. We had the best time photographing Sophia and Alex during their Little Stony Point engagement session. These two brought such joyful energy and were up for every adventure.
From the very first shot, they fully leaned into the experience. That always helps create the best images. As Beacon wedding photographers, we adore shooting in this scenic area because there’s always something new to discover with our couples.
We kicked off the session at one of the best viewpoints in the area. Sophia and Alex stood at the overlook with a perfect view of the Hudson River behind them. The light filtered beautifully through the trees, and they were already laughing together within minutes.
After soaking in the view, we headed to the ledge for a different angle of the river. This spot feels intimate but wide open at the same time. That combination gives us space to guide our couples while also letting moments unfold naturally.
One of our favorite parts of this Hudson Highlands Preserve engagement was how much movement we got throughout the shoot. Sophia and Alex trusted us to lead the way, and we took full advantage of the trails and tall grass nearby. This part of the park always gives us so much room to play.
As Hudson Valley engagement photographers, we love when our couples are open to wandering. We’re not focused on stiff poses. Instead, we guide gently while letting your chemistry shine through. These two were the perfect example of that balance.
We continued our walk through the preserve, weaving through the winding trails and patches of golden light. Little Stony Point has so many little nooks that feel like their own private spaces. From shaded forest areas to sunny clearings, this part of the Hudson Highlands is packed with visual variety.
These two never stopped smiling. It made our job feel easy. When couples trust the process, that’s where the magic happens. It also helps that Little Stony Point gives us space to capture both the epic and the tender.
To wrap up, we made our way down to the beach. This stretch of shoreline is such a fun spot to finish an engagement session. The light bounces beautifully off the water in the evening. Sophia and Alex walked barefoot through the sand, laughing the whole time.
As Beacon wedding photographers, we love ending sessions at this spot. There’s something playful and relaxed about the beach that always helps people unwind. It’s a natural way to wrap up the session on a high note.
