Kat and Marc had a stunning intimate Weylin wedding in Williamsburg. This venue now accommodates cozy celebrations for couples looking for a guest count of between 50 and 150. As Hudson Valley wedding photographers, we love to come to Brooklyn for our couples’ big days. We lived in the borough for almost a decade, and always appreciate a ceremony and reception in the city. These two could not have had a more cozy and beautiful celebration.
The couple got ready together at the Arlo Williamsburg. This hotel is one of a few ideal choices for couples who choose to tie the knot in the area. We love the stunning floor-to-ceiling windows that the spaces have to offer. Plus, the views of the Manhattan skyline are just unbeatable at this spot. As bride and groom, these two started the day getting dressed and having a ton of fun. We love when couples forgo tradition and personalize their day.
Marc’s grooming was handled by Black Rabbit Barber Shop. Kat’s hair and makeup were done by the incredible team at Willowhouse Beauty. We are incredibly impressed with how well the bride’s beauty look held up on such a humid day. The groom’s suit was by Bindle & Keep, one of our favorite ateliers. Also, the bride’s dress was found at Bridal Suite of Centereach. Their looks make for such a stunning set of photos for the special day.
Since it was a rainy day, we started by taking photos in the room itself. This hotel offers bright and spacious accommodations that allow couples to move around freely. We love all the natural light that comes through in the rooms. This start to the day set expectations for a truly unforgettable celebration. Kat and Marc’s florals by Hanato Floral Design also stand out beautifully in these images. We are so thrilled about this start to their wedding at the Weylin in Williamsburg.
After we took these photos, it was time to head over to the venue. We said goodbye to the beauty of the Arlo and hello to the stunning design of the Weylin. The couple, aided by some handy umbrellas, hopped in a car and made their way over to the space. Just a short distance from the hotel, these two were greeted by their planning team at the event space. Justine and the team at Avalinda were off to a running start with the couple’s event design.
Our team of New York wedding photographers feels so strongly about the beauty of this space. This historic event venue in Brooklyn, NY has incredibly high ceilings, intricate design details, and a remarkable history. Just stepping into the space, you’re floored before you even take in the beauty of the custom event design. The warmth that exudes from every corner of the space makes this a one-of-a-kind place to tie the knot.
Before the ceremony, the couple signed their Ketubah at this Weylin wedding. While guests began to arrive, Kat and Marc pulled away for privacy with their loved ones. They shared in this moment with the rabbi and began the celebrations accordingly. After their signing, it was time for the rest of their ceremony. As photographers in New York and the Hudson Valley, we were incredibly honored to witness and capture this intimate moment.
The mood was set with live music from Kirsten Copely on the harp. The team at Avalinda set the space up perfectly for a circle ceremony, which made for an incredible photo opportunity. Friends and family gathered around the Chuppah for this couple’s sweet, impassioned vows. We love that they chose this circular arrangement because it means that everyone can watch from a good angle. The couple’s glass stomp and first kiss photos are super cute as well, as you can see the joy in their loved ones from all sides.
Beyond just ceremony music, Kirsten also accompanied Kat and Marc for their private first dance. Instead of having a last dance, these two chose to take a moment after ceremony to just themselves. They danced in the space where they tied the knot. As guests headed down to cocktail hour, they took some time on their wedding day to relish in each other. Additionally, it’s an incredibly touching experience to be able to photograph these private moments as their Hudson Valley and New York wedding photographers.
DJ Ben Boylan at Non-Traditional Wedding DJs got the dance floor moving. These two had an incredibly unique soundtrack to the day, including music from Star Wars and Pokémon. I mean seriously, how much more fun can a Weylin wedding day get?! We can’t get enough of these super fun photos, and this amazing couple. They even brought out a cutout of their beloved cat on the dance floor to include their fluffy friend.
Our favorite part of the day? When Kat and Marc step out with us at night for a few rainy photos, as you can see here. We do love to show off every element of the wedding day – even inclement weather. That’s why these rainy night time Brooklyn wedding photos have captured our hearts. Henceforth, we think these might be some of our favorite photos from the whole (very rainy) season.
Hear what the couple had to say about their wedding day experience with our Catskills & Hudson Valley photo and video team:
“Well, I guess we’re photogenic now. Megan and Kenneth told us we would be, and we didn’t believe it, but darn it, they made us gorgeous! Seriously, what more can be said about this duo of amazing photographers. Just by looking at the photos on their website we knew we were going to get amazing pictures. I think with any photographer you’ll get pictures of the ceremony space, the dress, the portraits, the party etc., and, don’t get me wrong, all of those photos came out perfect. What we didn’t expect was how they truly captured the essence of us, our family, and our friends.
From my wife showing off her ring to her friends…followed by me pushing her out of the way to show them MY ring to pictures of my father smiling (he doesn’t smile), we were amazed at how they captured the small moments in addition to the big ones. It’s these moments that are everything to us and Megan and Kenneth captured these moments without us even having to ask. We also appreciated the personal touch they provided, truly becoming friends with us during this process.”
