As wedding photographers we are, of course, all about photo galleries, prints, albums and all that fun stuff. But did you know we’re also NYC wedding videographers? Even we don’t mind admitting that sometimes, photography can’t quite capture all the feelings and emotions. But a video can enhance and grab those important special moments in detail.
In fact, the perfect way to make sure you’ve got full coverage of your special day is to have photographs AND video, as far as we’re concerned. And hey, doesn’t everyone aspire to be in their own movie with one hell of a soundtrack? Here’s why you should hire a New York wedding photographer and videographer team.
We guarantee that your wedding photos are going to tell the story of your day perfectly. We always make sure we’re there for all the crucial moments – you walking down the aisle, exchanging your vows, that first kiss! But there are things that even a full day of wedding photography can’t quite capture—those tiny expressions and reactions from your friends and family, as well as the two of you. There is no better way to capture the nuance of a wiggling eyebrow or a wink than in a video.
Sound! You know full well that photographs are still images. They don’t have movement, well, not in the same way a video does, and they don’t include sound either. Those moments where audio is critical – during your vows or speeches – get lost in the fading memories without a record of them. That’s why we started doing both wedding photography and NYC wedding videography.
Like photography, videography captures the story of your day but with added extras. A snippet of your Mom shedding a happy tear, your sister reading a beautiful poem for you both, and the music that was played during your first dance. There are also those elements that add to the mood of the day – the laughter, the comments loved ones make – that you just can’t convey in a photograph. Those little snippets of sound really enhance the record of your day.
As NYC wedding videographers, we pick up on so many of those in-between moments that can’t always be captured in photos. Sure, we capture some, but it’s impossible to photograph every second of the day, where film will capture those key moments in real-time. Because, you know, how else can you capture your favorite Uncle Jeff’s funky chicken dance moves for all eternity?!
Sitting down to look back through your wedding photos is always such a lovely thing to do. And we believe that sitting down to watch your wedding video is even more enjoyable. You get to relive all the moments, emotions, words spoken and feelings, all as if you were actually there.
It’s inevitable that there will be some of your loved ones who won’t be able to make it to your day. So, a wedding video is a perfect way to show them how the day went too. They’ll be able to experience all the laughter and happy tears as if they were there, and we’re sure they’ll be so glad you made them a part of it by doing that.
Also, how many times have you tried to share a story about an event to someone who wasn’t present, but you just can’t convey how funny or exciting or scary it was? Do you find yourself saying, ‘You had to be there’? Well, with a New York wedding videographer you won’t have to say that anymore. Now you can show them and have them know exactly what it was like.
We know the thought of paying for another supplier can be stressful. It may be that budget is one of the main factors for you not to have wedding videography. So, getting your existing wedding photographers to also do your video might be a sensible option. Do make sure your photographers offer it alongside their photography services (Guess what? We do!). But including it as an “add on” service may not be as expensive as you think.
We’ve been offering New York wedding videography and photography for some time now, so we’d be more than happy to talk with you if you’re interested. We shoot video in a low-key kind of way. It’s just the two of us, no extra teams of people waving lights and mics around.
If there’s just one reason why you should have a wedding video, it’s to avoid regretting not having one after the day is done! Not having wedding cinematography is actually listed as most couples’ one big regret about their big day. So many couples who didn’t have videography all wish that they had afterward.
Hey, even we put ourselves in that statistic! We didn’t get a video either, and we so wish we had now. The memories of our vows and speeches are fading fast because there’s no way we can remember exactly what was said forever. If we’d had a wedding video, we wouldn’t have to try remembering.
We also know that there are so many moments we didn’t get to see or experience. Things like what happened while we were getting ready would have been awesome to see on video, or even moments that happened at our wedding when we weren’t present. Learn from our mistakes! Consider adding New York wedding videography to your budget.
Picture this: you’re watching a video of that moment you walked down the aisle. It’s moving in slow motion, there’s a beautiful romantic song playing and the sound of your vows overlaid too. Can you feel the tears of happiness bubbling up?
Well, that’s what videography can do. It can weave a whole story together in a way that enhances the emotions you were feeling on the day. Not only for you but for any of your friends and family you choose to share it with too. We can’t think of a better reason why you should hire a NYC wedding photographer and videographer.
Have you ever looked at your parents’ or grandparents’ wedding album and wondered what it would have been like to be there? We’re betting if you were asked if you’d like to see their wedding video, you’d give a wholehearted ‘Yes please!’, right? Well, switch the tables now because we’re sure your kids and grandkids would feel precisely the same way.
We know sitting down to watch your wedding day video all together will be a fun and enjoyable family event. Your kids would love to see the day you guys got married, especially if they weren’t around to enjoy it themselves. It’s a kind of time travel. Stepping back in time to see how everyone looked, what people were wearing, and how much younger everyone was is a fun activity for everyone.
Mobile phones have made it easier for people to snap photos or grab some raw footage and share it online. But wouldn’t you rather have your guests completely present, enjoying the moment rather than seeing it all through a screen? Having us there as photographers and videographers means you can ask your guests to put their phones away and enjoy the day.
We’ll also be using the same high-quality, professional cameras as New York wedding videographers that we use to capture your photos. That means the video quality will be just as professional. There’s something about that quality imagery that gives your wedding film a cinematic quality. You’ll feel like the leads in your own movie!
Let’s take a moment to think about our loved ones. There’s no way we want to get all down on you here, but the fact is that we’re not all going to be around forever. And we can’t think of a lovelier way to be able to cherish the memory of a loved one than by seeing them full of life, happy, and enjoying your wedding in a video.
It’s so special to be able to see and hear them rather than just see them in still photographs. We know you’ll be so grateful and happy that you got your video when that day in the future comes.
First of all, it’s just the two of us. We use a hybrid method to capture both photo and video from your day. No big video cameras, no team of people lighting and following you around making you feel awkward. We’re already there capturing your photos, so you won’t even notice anything extra going on to get your video, too.
For those super sentimental moments, we capture audio as well. We’re using mics to capture things like your vows, speeches, comments, and conversations from loved ones. Then, we can integrate and overlay them into your video.
It’s a pretty documentary-style experience overall. Instead of having a full team of wedding photographers and videographers (5-6 people) follow you around all day, you’ve got us as your amazing NYC wedding photographer and videographer team.
You won’t have a 4-hour movie that everyone will fall asleep watching, we promise! We put together a highlights reel of the best, most meaningful moments you’ll want to see, hear and experience, as well as have the photographs of.
And it won’t even cost you the earth! You can add our videography services to your existing photography package for a really great price. If you’re thinking about hiring NYC wedding videographers, or you want to find out more, get in touch. We’d love to talk it all through with you.
