Couples in the city often want to elope in Upstate New York. But when it comes to navigating the Metro North, there are so many places to choose. As Beacon-based wedding photographers, we’re going to go over the best Hudson Valley elopement locations off the Hudson Line. This will help with couples who aren’t looking for a difficult commute, but still want some beautiful locations in nature.
One of the closest stops on the Metro-North Hudson line is Hastings-on-Hudson. This quaint village features a number of incredible restaurants like Harvest on Hudson, a perfect spot to celebrate your brand-new nuptials. Consider Lenoir Preserve as a great spot to tie the knot just off the train line. This 40-acre park features beautiful ruins and lots of nature for your elopement photos in the Hudson Valley. You can also hop off the Greystone stop to get to this preserve.
This intimate spot in the Hudson Valley is a great spot to say your vows. Nestle yourselves amongst the trees and immerse your love story in the woods. The Juhring Nature Preserve is a beautiful path to walk for your intimate wedding. Head out to the trees with your photographer and officiant to get some incredible shots for your elopement.
When looking into Hudson Valley elopement locations off the Metro-North, don’t skip out on Yonkers. Untermeyer Gardens is a beautifully manicured location just outside of the five boroughs. Hop off the Greystone stop on the Hudson line to get some gorgeous images. The florals and greenery of this spot are unparalleled for couples coming up from the city.
Not quite a Hudson Valley elopement location, this pristine public garden is a great spot to say ‘I Do. Just be sure to get a photography permit prior to your Wave Hill elopement. You’ll get some gorgeous golden light in the evening as visitor hours begin to wind down. Plus, every corner of these gardens makes for great elopement photography that feels like the valley, without straying too far from home.
One of the best stops on the Metro-North Hudson line for your elopement photos is Tarrytown. This stop gives you access to some beautiful locations like Rockefeller State Park Preserve. Another beautiful option for your marriage is the Scenic Hudson RiverWalk Park. There’s also the Lyndhurst Mansion, but be sure to get a permit for this elopement location.
One of the most revered elopement locations in the Hudson Valley is Bear Mountain State Park. This beautiful scene is quintessential Hudson Valley, and seriously – not too far from the train. It’s an easy spot to get to for couples who are looking for something secluded but with relatively easy access.
Little Stony Point Park is one of our absolute favorite Hudson Valley elopement locations. With easy access to an overlook, this spot is just minutes from the Cold Spring stop on the Hudson Line. If you want to elope in the mountains (but make it easy!) this is a great solution. This stop off the Metro-North also offers access to the beautiful village with its restaurants and hotels for your getaway.
Minutes away from Beacon’s Metro-North train stop, you’ll find one of the prettiest waterside views in the Hudson Valley. Long Dock Park is a great place to elope if you want to spend the weekend in one of the region’s more hip towns. As elopement photographers living in the area, we love this spot as you also get easy access to this Dutchess County city and its beautiful restaurants and hotels.
