This stunning Brooklyn elopement had very few family members in attendance, making it a super intimate winter wedding. Michelle and Geoffrey still plan to have a bigger wedding down the line to celebrate with family and friends. For now, however, they wanted to tie the knot.

This area is super versatile for photos. We typically start our route on the Brooklyn Bridge itself at the start of the day. To achieve beautiful Brooklyn Bridge elopement photos in New York, you have to arrive as early as possible. We like to arrive at sunrise to get the emptiest possible scene on the bridge.
DUMBO Elopement Photos on Washington Street
After posing on the bridge itself, we head down to Washington Street. On our way down, we stop at the DUMBO color wall to take vibrant, fun wedding photos. This color wall is located just off of Washington, creating s vibe that can match with what any couple’s wedding day aesthetic is.
Iconic Brooklyn Bridge Park Elopement Photos at Washington Street
Washington Street itself is where you get the amazing, iconic view of the Manhattan Bridge. This is the shot that you typically see on Instagram with the epic DUMBO bridge views. We love taking wedding photos on Washington Street, but you have to start the day early. Michelle and Geoffrey were serious troopers and got up for a sunrise photo shoot in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

After that, we head over to Jane’s Carousel for some stunning photos with lots of lights in the background. We love that this historic carousel adds tons of whimsy and fun to wedding photos in Brooklyn. They also add a neat pop of color that, especially for winter elopement photos in NYC, may be missing.
Tie the Knot on the NYC Skyline in Brooklyn Bridge Park
Finally, these two did their winter elopement in DUMBO by the waterfront by Jane’s Carousel. The view of the NYC skyline is absolutely stunning from this area, making it one of the most iconic locations to take wedding photos in Brooklyn. Officiated by Daniela at Once Upon a Vow, this New York elopement ceremony was so personal and beautiful.

This Dumbo wedding was so sweet. Although Michelle and Geoffrey were freezing cold, they still kept huge smiles on their face. This elopement was a New York wedding photographer’s dream. The lighting was moody and romantic, and although it wasn’t actively snowing, there was snow on the ground. Everything worked out perfectly for these two.
Having a Winter Elopement in DUMBO
Although we can’t predict snow, we can predict that it’ll be a little chilly in the winter months. If you’re thinking about eloping in November, December, January, or February in New York City, be prepared for some extra chilly weather. When Michelle and Geoffrey eloped, it snowed about four times in New York during the winter. If you really want snow on your wedding day, you could get your license at the beginning of December and watch the forecast for a day within the month to tie the knot.
