Glo and Alex ventured out on a white-out snowy day for their adventure Mohonk Preserve elopement. As Hudson Valley wedding photographers, we’re no strangers to inclement weather. These two had a stunning adventure with their snowy Catskills photos eloping on the trails. Nestled in the Shawangunk Ridge, this particular trail set is property of the Mohonk Mountain House.
Romantic Snowstorm Mohonk Preserve Elopement Photography
First thing to know when taking photos on these trails: you’ll need to reserve a pass to get onto the property. These two got a Winter Sports Pass which allowed them access to the trails. You can also get a Hiking Day Pass, but you’ll have a much longer walk. During the winter, we would recommend the sports pass or a dining reservation to access the trailheads easily. It’s very important to secure the proper paperwork before you head out to this dreamy spot in New Paltz. You’ll want to be sure that everything goes off without a hitch for your special moments.
Snowy Elopement in Forest in the Hudson Valley
When it comes to any Catskills elopement photos or marriage in the Hudson Valley, you’ll want to watch the weather. While snow can make for a stunning wedding day in terms of your photography, you’ll want to make sure the cold is something you can handle. You can see Glo even wore spikes and winter hiking boots to brave the mountains for their small wedding celebration. This Upstate New York gem is so photogenic. We highly recommend it regardless of the conditions. These two came up from New York City for the weekend with their rescue dogs.
Winter Elopement Photos in the Catskills and Hudson Valley
When it comes to your wedding ceremony in the Catskill Mountains or Hudson Valley, you’ll want to chat with your elopement photographer on where the most stunning views are. Given that these photos were taken with white-out conditions, the couple leaned into the snowy woods. They also got a small cabin near Minnewaska State Park where we then went to take photos after their Mohonk Preserve elopement. This allowed them to change into the traditional Korean Paebek robes for their second look. Plus, as a show of strength, the groom traditionally carries his bride on his back during a tea ceremony.
Beacon Wedding Photographers Capture Elopement at Mohonk Preserve
As Hudson Valley elopement and wedding photographers, we are so excited when couples bring such personal energy. Glo and Alex included their three rescue chihuahuas in their photos at their Airbnb. New York state has so many gorgeous places to stay for your intimate celebration. It made for a great opportunity to get some pictures with their sweet pups. Our wedding photography and videography team based in Beacon loves to explore the various elopement locations in the region. We’re always happy to help you decide on the best spot to tie the knot.
Copes Lookout Elopement Photography in the Wintertime
When it comes to your Mohonk Preserve elopement, it’s best to choose a time of day that there will be lower foot traffic. From sunrise to sunset, these private trails are open with your reservation. Or, for couples going the full nine yards, you could even plan your stay at the Mohonk Mountain House. There are so many great options for you to have an intimate celebration in the area. We always recommend being prepared for the elements in the wintertime! Grab some HotHands packets for your hands and feet.
