This romantic Williamsburg wedding at Radegast Hall took place on a gorgeous summer day in the city. After Sheila and Rob eloped during the pandemic, they held their wedding exactly a year later to celebrate their love story. This time, their union was surrounded by loving family and friends. Let’s peek at Sheila and Rob’s beautiful Radegast Hall wedding.
These two started their day in Marsha P Johnson State Park for a first look. Sheila decided to fake Rob out and tap him on the opposite shoulder – it was a super cute and quirky way to share the moment! It set the tone for what would be a super fun wedding day ahead. As Brooklyn wedding photographers, we love taking Williamsburg wedding photos at East River State Park for the stunning NYC skyline views.
A gorgeous day for wedding photos, we always love when there’s an overcast sky. We often tell couples when doing engagement photos and photographing weddings in NYC that it softens shadows and creates very flattering light. It’s a good thing to keep in mind so you don’t end up stressing about the weather on your big day.
With the wild weirdness of 2020 and the pandemic, traditional weddings have gone out the window. We loved that Sheila and Rob chose to tie the knot in their own intimate way last year, but still have this wild wedding at Radegast Hall Biergarten. It’s a super unique wedding venue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn as it’s a beer hall and awesome place to party.
This venue is the perfect spot for a non-traditional wedding with a super fun couple. We loved capturing this beer hall wedding with Sheila and Rob. The capacity of the space could be anywhere from 125-300 depending on which rooms you’re looking to rent. The lighting in the venue is super unique, ranging from dark and moody to bright and natural.
After their first look, we walked through the streets of Williamsburg to get some quintessential Brooklyn wedding photos. As New York wedding photographers, we find that a lot of our couples getting married in Brooklyn love taking street shots. It’s not a New York City wedding without capturing the atmosphere of the city, after all!
Thankfully, Sheila and Rob took us up on their complimentary engagement shoot so we could teach them about posing and comfort. It made it easy to breeze through their wedding portraits with them knowing exactly what to do. We loved that Sheila and Rob did a first look so they could get their family photos done prior to the wedding ceremony. It helps couples move their schedule along faster and ensure that they get all the shots they need.
It was a beautiful day, so Sheila and Rob had the roof at the beer hall for their ceremony. This Radegast Hall wedding was drenched with natural light thanks to the open roof, making for some beautiful photos. As NYC wedding photographers, we love capturing natural light and flattering our couples in the best light possible. This space was stunning with the rooftop open!
After these two sealed it with a kiss, it was time to party! The wedding reception at Radegast Hall was a total blast. Sheila and Rob worked with an amazing band called Blue Label who absolutely nailed it on stage. The dance floor was packed with fun times. Being wedding photographers in New York, we love seeing when the room lights up for a party.
We worked with an amazing team for Sheila and Rob’s Radegast Hall wedding! The floral design was done by Olivia Howard Designs, one of our favorite florists in the city. With music by Blue Label, we were so happy to be introduced to this awesome band. Simply Styled Events pulled the organization of the event together and made sure everything went super smoothly.
Let us know if you’re planning a Radegast Hall wedding in New York – as a photo and video team in NYC, we’re always down for this super fun venue! We’d love to capture your special day at this unique wedding venue.
