Stacey and Zach got married at the Refinery at Perona Farms on a beautiful summer afternoon. We absolutely adore this New Jersey wedding venue, with staff keeping the event running smoothly and this beautiful brand-new venue making a terrific event space. This celebration was a Hudson Valley wedding photographer’s dream!

Summer Wedding at the Perona Farms Refinery

Despite getting married in the midst of a heat wave, the weather held out beautifully for a not-too-sweaty day. During Stacey and Zach’s engagement shoot, we kept joking that the sun was toooo bright that day and we needed a little bit of cloud coverage. Well, their wedding day delivered and the entire day was beautiful and overcast.

We absolutely love getting out of the city to capture love stories. New York weddings are amazing, yes, but something about the clean air and greenery of NJ feels so wonderful on a big day. With Perona Farms, this secluded venue is located in Andover, and hosts a beautiful green ceremony spot, lively cocktail hour area, and spacious reception room.

Getting Ready at the Perona Farms Bridal Suites

These two got ready next door to each other in the side-by-side wedding suites at Perona Farms. This area is tucked away ‘speakeasy’ style behind a bookshelf, allowing the wedding party some privacy prior to the events of the big day starting. The ease of going between the two suites was super helpful – we absolutely adored that about this venue.

First Look Under the Willow at Perona Farms

Zach made his way out to the first look spot before the golf cart came back for Stacey. Having two Hudson Valley wedding photographers on our team makes it super easy to coordinate first looks like this. It allowed for ample communication to ensure Zach was ready before we made our way out to the spot.

Wedding Portraits at the Refinery at Perona Farms

The Refinery at Perona Farms also allows for photographing wedding day portraits around the grounds. Coordinating with the staff was uncomplicated and thoughtfully communicated, allowing the bride and groom to have their first look at the space they wanted – under the willow tree on the Perona Farms grounds.

We took their wedding portraits together under the willow tree, creating elegant, organic wedding photos in the heart of nature. Side note: it truly feels like the heart of nature taking photos like this, so pack some bug spray in your wedding kit! This area of Perona Farms in NJ has a classic swing under the willow tree, allowing for some unique portraits you just can’t take anywhere else.

Family Photos at the Perona Farms Refinery

The couple proceeded to take wedding party and  family photos after their portraits, making it easy to check everything off the list prior to their ceremony. It’s awesome when couples get everything done before the ceremony so no time is taken out of the party-party-party later! We took group photos on the lawn within the Refinery at Perona Farms. It’s a great spot with a view of the Barn as well!

Getting Married at the Refinery in Perona Farms

Their wedding ceremony took place in a stunning room with a wall of greenery. Paired with florals by Olivia Howard Designs, it made for a perfect spot to tie the knot. The florals added the perfect amount of flair to this clean and beautiful event space in New Jersey. With the overcast day looming above, the rain held off throughout the ceremony to make for perfectly lit wedding photos.

Kiss Photos Down the Aisle at the Refinery

After these two said ‘I Do!’ at the Refinery at Perona Farms, they proceeded down the aisle. One of our favorite moments is when couples stop halfway down the aisle for a second kiss. It allows us to get a shot of the two of you while immersed in your family and friends cheering you on. That’s exactly what Stacey and Zach did on their way out of the ceremony space before taking a moment to themselves.

Next came the post-ceremony party time, and their Refinery cocktail hour at Perona Farms was a hit! With both indoor and outdoor options, this space was accommodating to all guests. With a mix of industrial and rustic vibes, we love that this versatile New Jersey event space can make any wedding work, rain or shine.

Cocktail Hour at All-Inclusive NJ Wedding Venue

Serving up a taco bar, seafood, pizza, and everything in between, Perona Farms nailed it as an all-inclusive NJ wedding venue. The cocktail hour was only the beginning of the joys to come – next it was time for their Refinery reception.

These two welcomed their guests into the main room before entering for a first dance. Instead of having their guests in their seats, they had their guests stand up around the dance floor. We loved this romantic touch of being surrounded by friends and family for this once-in-a-lifetime moment.

After parent dances, the reception led right intos speeches. Close friends to the couple gave sweet (and hilarious) words before the guests dug in for dinner. The room also had occasional dance sets before the main dance floor moment opened up. We were so impressed with the way that the Refinery at Perona Farms photographed – from the light and airy vibes to the beautiful edison lights hanging in the space.
