We're Beacon-based Hudson Valley & Catskills wedding + elopement photographers who love to capture natural, authentic moments for all couples in love.
As Hudson Valley wedding photographers, we love photographing couples more than once. With Abby and Jake, we captured their fall Central Park proposal. Now, we worked together with them to take some creative High Line engagement photos in New York. We can’t wait for these two to tie the knot so we can photograph them once again.

When we first met Abby and Jake, they were thrown into posing with us after their proposal. We love taking New York engagement photos because it gives us the opportunity to get to know our couples better. We teach them about posing and feeling more comfortable in front of the camera. By the end of their Meatpacking District engagement photography session, these two were total pros.

We love taking High Line engagement photos because it’s such a unique part of New York City. To get spectacular images at this location, we arrived as early as possible. This park doesn’t open up until 7:00AM, so we started at exactly that time. You can’t even get onto the High Line before that hour to start taking photos.

When it comes to NYC engagement sessions, it’s all about choosing a location that speaks to you as a couple. Abby and Jake loved this area and found it perfect for their relationship. Plus, they already had beautiful Central Park engagement photography from their proposal. It was awesome to switch it up for these two.

This springtime photoshoot on the High Line was beautiful because there were lots of blossoming flowers. Of all engagement photo locations in Manhattan, you wouldn’t think of this spot for the cherry blossoms first and foremost. Most people head to the Botanic Gardens, Prospect Park, or Central Park for florals. These two got to incorporate the colors and light of spring in their photos without being in such a crowded place.

As Beacon-based engagement photographers, it’s fun to think of unique poses for your photo session in New York. The High Line engagement photos allow for lots of movement and walking poses. On top of that, there are gorgeous cobblestone streets just off the trail in the Meatpacking District. These types of shots feel like quintessential New York City engagement images.

Another reason we love taking pictures early in the morning is the lighting. Especially in springtime, 7:00AM is perfect lighting for romantic photos in the city. When it comes to wedding photos, you don’t often get to use early morning light. So using it for your engagement pictures is perfect to capture your relationship in all sorts of romantic scenarios.
If you’re thinking about taking High Line engagement photos, it’s a great spot for lifelong memories. Plus, this area of Manhattan allows for versatile photos and some good exercise. We’ll start somewhere along 23rd street and head down toward the Meatpacking District. During the springtime, the trees and flowers in this area are beautiful and full of color.
Either way works for us! We’ll be in touch in no time at all to book in a chat with you and, yes, we’re sure Cordy and Phoebe will pop up and say hi.
