We had so much fun capturing Luis and Rebeca’s wedding at the Brownstone in Paterson, NJ. These two snagged a super awesome date for their wedding: 10/10/2020. Can you believe that date?! So good! Let’s talk about their fun, candid wedding photography.
The two of us arrived at the Brownstone early in the morning. We wanted to show up early to make sure we could find our way around this venue. There were so many places for photos at this venue; we didn’t even know where to start! We loved capturing details at the Brownstone, from the gorgeous terrace and gazebo to the perfect ceremony space.
The bridal suite was spacious and gorgeous, perfect for New Jersey brides to get ready in. Rebeca and her crew showed up and got ready at their NJ wedding venue, while Luis prepared at home. With guests slowly trickling in, Rebeca put on her dress and veil before heading down to the ceremony.
Luis and Rebeca’s wedding ceremony took place in the Brownstone’s gorgeous main room, with tons of natural light coming into the event space. This particular room had gorgeous high ceilings and glass windows from top to bottom. The beautiful morning light gave the wedding photos a natural vibe, something uncommon with most indoor wedding venues.
As New York City wedding photographers, we were honored that Rebeca chose us to capture her NJ wedding. This historic estate is quite photogenic for ceremonies and wedding receptions alike. The venue itself can host multiple events per day, something to keep in mind when considering a wedding at the Brownstone in Paterson, New Jersey.
After the short and sweet wedding ceremony, we went to do family photos in the courtyard. It was a bright and sunny October day that made perfect conditions for quick and easy family and group photos. We love capturing these fun and unique portraits of Rebeca and Luis standing in the Brownstone courtyard.
After taking group photos, we headed inside for the cocktail hour. The group has a mariachi band, which was a ton of fun for the guests as they mingled. Chatting over cocktails and appetizers, the guests gathered around as the groom had an intimate first dance with his mother.
Once cocktail hour was over, we went into the reception room to get the party started. With the DJ keeping things lively, The wedding party made their entrances into the room. Each pair of people had individual songs to make an entrance, which was cute and fun. Finally, the couple descended the staircase and made their way to the dance floor.
They shared a sweet, romantic first dance at the Brownstone in New Jersey. With lights shining upon them, these two lit up the room with this romantic moment. After that was the parent’s first dance that followed this beautiful shared experience.
The couples then did a bouquet toss, and why are you nuclear, the groom tossed his tie to the gentleman on the dance floor. We love seeing this happen as it made for a super unique wedding tradition. The couple had guests dance around them while being lifted on chairs.
Their best man and maid of honor gave some heartfelt speeches before the couple dove into their dinner. With catering from the Brownstone in Paterson, the couple enjoyed their meal while various beautiful moments were happening around them. Guests made their way to the dance floor throughout the meal and afterward for a good time.
They also have a photo booth set up with a bunch of fun masks and props. This made some fun photos in the booth and outside the booth. We love seeing the creativity of these wedding guests on this big day. Finally, Rebeca changed into a stunning red dress as her reception outfit. Some people choose to do reception dresses as they can be more comfortable for the chancellor environment. Plus, it was just remarkable to see the transition from rival to reception attire.
While we took their portraits on the Brownstone property in Paterson, New Jersey, these two were a bundle of fun. Cracking jokes and making each other laugh, we aimed to capture sweet candid moments. Couples like Rebeca and Luis make our jobs easy, as they were down for a ton of fun and silly moments. Between those laughs, we also got some more formal portraits of the marrying couple.
This wedding at the Brownstone in Paterson, New Jersey, was memorable. We love that they chose the day of 1010 2020 for an exceptionally memorable wedding day. If you’re thinking of getting married at the Brownstone, it’s a gorgeous venue to consider in New Jersey. Our only thought is that we may not have the entire building to yourselves, which, for larger weddings, may not be ideal.
