What to Bring for Winter Engagement Photography

Warm clothes are important when taking outdoor photos in the winter. Even though it was January, Jennifer and Chris wore outfits where they got chilly. They hopped in and out of their coats in between shots. Although they weren’t feeling the warmest, you can see lots of warmth in these happy engagement photos at South Street Seaport.

Jennifer and Chris had a great time getting their couple’s photography session done in downtown Manhattan. The Brooklyn Bridge provides a beautiful backdrop to any type of photo shoot, especially engagements. There are several areas where you can take a view of the bridge from a different perspective. We did this for a few reasons, but mostly because it creates a lot of different options for your New York engagement photography album.

What to Wear for Winter Engagement Photos in NYC

After seeing what Jennifer and Chris wore to do their couple’s photography session, it’s probably best to dress in layers. Make sure you have a jacket that isn’t too tight. Usually, people get chilly when the wind blows. They suggest wearing a scarf or two for this photo shoot because it will keep you warm. You won’t need heavy overcoats, but you should wear some type of coat to avoid freezing.

South Street Seaport Engagement Photos in Manhattan

Jennifer and Chris had an awesome time with their engagement photography session in downtown Manhattan. They wanted to have their winter engagement photos done before with their Hudson Valley wedding photographers. Taking engagement pictures at South Street Seaport was a great idea because it provides awesome views of the Brooklyn Bridge. You can be creative with poses and angles so you can capture your favorite photos. Take these engagement pictures at least once before the wedding to make sure they’re good enough for your New York wedding album.

Pier 17 Engagement Photography in NYC

We also took a few photos inside of Pier 17. Their rooftop space is a great place to have a photoshoot at South Street Seaport. Engagement photo shoots are the right time to take some more playful shots of you two. It’s a fun way for us to get a feel on how your personality is and how we can incorporate that into your wedding photos.

In addition to South Street Seaport, Pier 17 also has a rooftop space that creates good views of Manhattan’s spacious landscape. This rooftop is perfect for taking engagement pictures downtown because you get both exterior and interior photos with these two areas. If you want a good time for your engagement photos, it’s a great place to start. It’s not too big and it has lots of fun photo ops.
