Madeline and Andrew wanted to take their intimate engagement photography in the neighborhood where they spend the most time. We did their Upper East Side engagement photo shoot surrounded by blossoms in the springtime. From their block, to the Jackie O Reservoir, to the MET Museum, we couldn’t be more obsessed with these shots.
Best Time of Year for an Upper East Side Engagement Photo Shoot
The best time of year for an engagement photo shoot in the city is definitely springtime. The weather is finally warm, but not too hot. And all of the trees and flowers are in bloom! We started Madeline and Andrew’s engagement session on the streets near their apartment. This was lined with brownstones and beautiful trees, making it feel like a movie set.
When Do Spring Blossoms Happen in New York City?
The blossoms usually start to show up in early April and peak around the end of the month. So if you’re planning a springtime engagement photo shoot, make sure to schedule it for April! The Upper East Side is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in New York City, especially in the springtime. The trees are blooming, the flowers are out, and it just feels like a fairytale. If you’re considering an engagement photo shoot in NYC, this is definitely the place to do it.
Engagement Photos at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir
After walking around the streets near their apartment, we headed to the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir. This is a gorgeous spot for photos any time of year, but it’s especially beautiful in the springtime. The reservoir is huge, so there’s plenty of room to explore. The views are just incredible. We had a blast walking around and taking photos here.
The MET Museum for an Engagement Photo Shoot
Madeline and Andrew are both huge art lovers, so it was only fitting that we did some photos outside of the MET Museum. This is one of the most popular museums in New York City, and it’s easy to see why. The architecture is stunning, and there are so many great photo spots. We had a blast doing an Upper East Side engagement photo shoot here.
What Time of Day Should You Do UES Engagement Photos?
The best time of day for engagement photos is definitely early morning, at or around sunrise. This is because the light is just perfect during this time, and the streets are relatively empty. We did Madeline and Andrew’s shoot super early, and it was just perfect. Nobody was around and the lighting through the trees was amazing.
