We're Beacon-based Hudson Valley & Catskills wedding + elopement photographers who love to capture natural, authentic moments for all couples in love.
Martine and Ken have a larger wedding celebration planned with their loved ones down the road. But first, they wanted to start their marriage with something truly personal and beautifully intimate. We were overjoyed to document their Beacon Courthouse elopement on a gorgeous sunny Tuesday morning in spring. This small, joyful ceremony was exactly the kind of heartfelt moment we treasure most as wedding photographers.![]()
The ceremony took place inside the grand courtroom at Beacon City Hall, at 1 Municipal Plaza in Beacon. From the very first moment, Martine and Ken filled the room with genuine laughter and the most radiant smiles. The officiant guided them through their vows with warmth and sincerity that felt completely natural and real. After the ring exchange and their first kiss as a married couple, they signed the marriage license together.![]()

As Hudson Valley wedding photographers, we have had the privilege of photographing at courthouses all across New York State. Therefore, we can say with full confidence that a Beacon Courthouse elopement is one of our very favorites. The grand courtroom interior features soaring ceilings, warm wood details, and truly beautiful natural light. It creates a setting that feels both elegant and deeply personal at the very same time.

This Hudson Valley city hall is the go-to spot for couples dreaming of a Beacon Courthouse elopement. Beacon City Hall holds wedding ceremonies on Tuesdays at noon, keeping the experience intentional and beautifully focused. Couples apply for a marriage license online through the City of Beacon Self-Service module for just $40. Documents including photo IDs, birth records, and prior marriage records must be sent to the records office for review.

All documents submitted to the City Clerk must be fully translated into English before they are reviewed. After review, the office will contact you to schedule a signing, which is followed by a 24-hour waiting period. Furthermore, once issued, the marriage license remains valid for 60 days from the date of issuance. The City Clerk also offers one-day officiant licenses for $25 to anyone officiating a City of Beacon ceremony.![]()
After the ceremony, we gathered everyone outside for a fun round of group portraits in the bright spring sunshine. Noon in May means bold, direct sunlight, and as a Beacon-based photography team, we love working with it expertly. We found ideal angles outside the municipal building to keep every portrait flattering, vivid, and full of energy. The couples portraits outside the courthouse after their Beacon Courthouse elopement turned out bright and vivid throughout.![]()
After their Beacon Courthouse elopement portraits, we decided on a total whim to head down to Long Dock Park. This gorgeous Hudson River location sits only minutes from the courthouse, making it a seamless and exciting next stop. We started on the beach, where gorgeous rolling river waves created the most stunning backdrop for portraits. Then we moved to the rocky ledge by the long dock for some beautifully dramatic waterfront images.![]()
Finally, we wrapped up in the open grass overlooking the river for some playful and truly magical portraits. Martine twirled and danced through the grass in her stunning gown covered in delicate butterfly appliques with total abandon. Her joy was absolutely contagious, and every frame from this part of the session is completely breathtaking. This Beacon Courthouse elopement had taken on a beautiful, free-spirited energy all its own by this point.![]()
Long Dock Park is without a doubt one of the most breathtaking portrait settings in the entire Hudson Valley. The Hudson River stretches wide and open here, with the rolling Hudson Highlands rising majestically across the water. As a result, every location within the park tells a completely different story, from rocky shoreline to open meadow. This is exactly why we love guiding couples to explore the area after a Beacon Courthouse elopement ceremony.![]()
Beacon, New York is a vibrant city with so much character to offer couples who choose to elope here. In addition to the courthouse, the city offers beautiful parks, waterfront access, and charming streets perfect for portraits. The combination of historic architecture and natural landscape makes it ideal for any small wedding or intimate celebration. Couples planning a Beacon Courthouse elopement truly get the best of both urban charm and natural beauty.![]()
Martine wore a breathtaking gown covered in delicate butterfly appliques that moved so beautifully in the spring breeze. Ken looked effortlessly stylish in a light blue suit that perfectly matched the brightness of the spring day. Together, they radiated a deep, relaxed happiness that made every portrait feel completely natural and authentically unposed. Documenting this kind of real, radiant joy is exactly what drives us as Hudson Valley wedding photographers.![]()

There is something incredibly powerful about choosing to begin your marriage with just the two of you. A courthouse elopement strips everything down to what truly matters: the vows, the commitment, and the joy. As a result, the emotions during a Beacon Courthouse elopement are always raw, real, and completely genuine. We feel so lucky to document intimate moments like these for couples across the Hudson Valley and beyond.![]()
This was one of the most romantic and genuinely joyful elopement sessions we have ever photographed as a team. Martine and Ken proved beautifully that the most meaningful celebrations do not always have to be the biggest ones. Instead, a little spontaneity, a whole lot of love, and a perfect spring day can create something truly unforgettable. We cannot wait to celebrate with them again when their bigger wedding day finally arrives.![]()
