We're Beacon-based Hudson Valley & Catskills wedding + elopement photographers who love to capture natural, authentic moments for all couples in love.
When we met Jillian and Eric for their Coney Island engagement photos, we didn’t expect them to bring so much energy at sunrise. After all, it was five in the morning on the beach. But as NYC engagement photographers, days like this stay with us forever. We had so much fun capturing these beach engagement photos in New York.

Their Coney Island engagement photos turned out beautifully, with Jillian’s hair blowing around her face in the wind. There are not many people awake yet at this time on Coney Island beach…and certainly no other couples having fun like these two did! We laughed so much while we were doing this Brooklyn engagement photo session. As New York engagement photographers, we even got in the water with the couple for some fun.
These two live by the beach on Long Island and wanted something to match their beachy energy. We are so glad they chose beach engagement photos with us. For couples who are thinking of getting in the water fully clothed on the beach: do it! Coney Island engagement photos are made even more magical by the spontenaiety involved.

When planning your beach engagement photos in New York, you must remember a few things. First of all, beach engagement photos may take a few tries. Your beach engagement photographer will tell you the best time to do this so as not to have too many people in the background. Also, wear clothes that can get wet and don’t forget your bathing suit underneath.
We chose to shoot at sunrise rather than sunset to avoid the crowds. For Coney Island engagement photos, sunset is always a popular time. But sunrise gives even more beautiful light and has far fewer people around. Beach engagement photos are a wonderful choice for beach lovers. It’s also super unique to do engagement shoots like this in NYC because most people wouldn’t think of this for city photos.
Many of us are not accustomed to beach engagement photos. When beach engagement photos are scheduled for the day, you need to be comfortable with the soles of your shoes sinking into the sand. You should wear clothes that can get wet and you may also want to wear a bathing suit. It is important to make sure that you do not have anything valuable on for beach engagement photos. Some beach photographers recommend wearing dark clothes because they do not show wrinkles or blemishes as well as lighter colors.

Just because beach engagement photos are not something you see everywhere does not mean that they aren’t a great idea. Jillian and Eric wanted beach engagement photos to capture their love for the beach, so it was perfect that we were able to do this with them! We have done Coney Island beach engagement photo sessions in NYC before at sunrise. This is definitely one of our favorite times to shoot here since there are far less people around. The light is also amazing during sunrises, which made us even more excited about these photos!

Thinking of doing an NYC engagement photo session? Let us know – we’d love to help make it happen. As New York engagement photographers, we can plan out a lovely summer engagement photo shoot that will make memories for a lifetime. Coney Island engagement photos are super unique and you’ll have photography like no one else’s.
Either way works for us! We’ll be in touch in no time at all to book in a chat with you and, yes, we’re sure Cordy and Phoebe will pop up and say hi.
