Kerman and Matt had a wonderful wedding at Brooklyn Winery with lots of personal touches. This rustic fall wedding in Williamsburg made for an amazing celebration of these two loves. Including a first look for some natural light photos made a huge difference in their wedding day coverage as well. We’re so honored to have captured this special day as Hudson Valley wedding photographers.
Their getting ready started at the Wythe Hotel, where they did their first look on the rooftop. With loved ones helping them prepare for the day, it was a great space to get ready at. We captured some awesome details like Kerman’s wedding suit and their intimate first look.
Afterwards, we took portraits of the two quickly before we headed to Brooklyn Winery for the ceremony and reception. They have a plant wall there that makes for a great background. We then photographed family photos and group photos before heading into Brooklyn Winery’s event space for an awesome rustic fall wedding.
We love when couples do first looks because it means we can get the bulk of formal photos done before the ceremony. This allows more time for candids and fun photos to be taken afterward. As romantic, candid wedding photographers in Brooklyn, we support couples in either decision. However, we do love having natural light for wedding photos like in these Brooklyn Winery portraits.
The first look is a great way to have the wedding ceremony be more personal. The process of being with each other before the gathering of guests can help to build anticipation for the rest of the event. Communication between you, your partner, and your photographer can help to create beautiful photographs that are unique to your relationship instead of just getting photos that are taken at any given wedding. The images that we captured of Kerman and Matt were full of emotion and beauty. We love the way their Brooklyn wedding turned out!
Once their formal photos were done, it was time to walk up the aisle. These two had a short and sweet ceremony that was ultra-personal, making for beautiful photos. The ceremony took place after the sun went down at this rustic and romantic venue. This venue is awesome because you never know how things will be laid out – we’ve had so many unique setups from different couples.
The ceremony included awesomely personal vows from both Kerman and Matt which really touched those in attendance… including us! It was such a sweet moment during their wedding day which also saw plenty of tears and sentimental moments throughout the whole evening as well.
If you want to make a grand entrance, the best idea is to time your walk perfectly. This means that as soon as the music changes from the recessional to the wedding processional, you’ll head down the aisle at a quick, but elegant pace. If you’re still not sure what this will look like, just think of how many couples have done this for movies and TV shows.
Make eye contact with your guests as you walk down the aisle so they know you’re paying them attention. At some point during your walk, turn around so that everyone can see you wearing your gown before turning back around and continuing on to meet your soon-to-be spouse at the altar.
Brooklyn Winery is one of the most rustic wedding venues in NYC. They offer a variety of different settings to host your wedding, and their space an intimate and laid-back atmosphere with plenty of room for family and friends. Brooklyn Winery’s versatile space can be transformed to fit your wedding style. An example of their rustic fall wedding is the setup above, with the ceremony against the window for more room for guests to sit.
After cocktail hour, guests enjoyed a meal in the main ceremony room. For Brooklyn Winery weddings, the main ceremony room can be converted to a dining room by having long rectangular tables laid out. The string lights above can provide a beautiful glow, and you’ll also have these wonderful plant walls for decor.
The incredible Brooklyn Winery wedding reception featured all kinds of rustic details for this fall wedding in New York City. These two really wanted their guests to have an awesome time at their wedding reception so they had lots of opportunities to chat with friends! In addition, their favors were wine and Levain Cookies.
This wedding was a ton of joy to photograph. As fun and candid wedding photographers, we want to use a style that will capture moments as they happen. The preference for natural photography is the power of the moment. We concentrate on documenting reality without adding any colors or backgrounds. That is why we do not like to over-pose our wedding clients or make them stand in the same spot for hours. We believe that weddings are special precisely because they are brief and unpredictable moments. These cannot be reenacted, they can only be documented.
Thinking about having a Brooklyn Winery wedding? Let us know, we’d love to help capture these moments for you. Everything about this special day was amazing, and we can guarantee your day will be just as beautiful at this rustic space. Keep us posted on what you’re thinking for your beautiful Williamsburg wedding celebration.
