We're Beacon-based Hudson Valley & Catskills wedding + elopement photographers who love to capture natural, authentic moments for all couples in love.
Some love stories simply call for a small, intentional, and deeply personal celebration. Mirelle and Dylan chose a Beacon City Hall elopement, surrounded by only the people who matter most. We are Megan and Kenneth, and we were truly honored to document every meaningful moment of their day. If you dream of something similar, explore our Hudson Valley and Catskills elopements portfolio for ideas and inspiration.

Early summer arrived with a fierce heat wave, yet these two were not deterred in the slightest. Mirelle and Dylan began with a first look outside the Beacon Courthouse, sheltered under a shady tree. That quiet, intimate moment set a warm and beautiful tone for the rest of their day. As a Beacon-based photography team, we always know how to work creatively with any environment we are given.

Beacon City Hall holds civil ceremonies on Tuesdays at noon, making it a perfect setting for an intimate micro-wedding. Mirelle and Dylan gathered inside with their parents and siblings, creating an atmosphere full of genuine warmth and love. The courthouse holds a sincere and focused energy that keeps every spotlight firmly on the couple themselves. We truly love photographing Beacon City Hall elopements because the emotion in that space is always honest and real.

One of the most moving moments of their small wedding was the heartfelt exchange of personal vows. Mirelle and Dylan wrote their own words, and it showed just how deeply they know each other. Their parents and siblings stood close by, taking in every tender and meaningful moment with full hearts. As photographers, we genuinely live for those quiet and profound exchanges between two people deeply in love.

After the ceremony concluded, the real celebration moved right outside the Beacon Courthouse doors with incredible energy. Their family lined up on both sides of the exit to cheer the newlyweds on with enormous joy. The atmosphere was electric, and the smiles on absolutely everyone’s faces told the whole story. We documented every moment of this Beacon City Hall elopement, from the exit through every group portrait.

Once all of the group portrait combinations were captured, we made our way together to Cold Spring. Additionally, the whole group headed over to Little Stony Point Park, which sits beautifully along the Hudson River. Because the day was still very hot, finding shade became our top priority as Hudson Valley wedding photographers. Cold Spring offered the perfect next chapter for this intimate Hudson Valley city hall celebration.

Little Stony Point Park is one of our absolute favorite spots for outdoor portrait sessions. The wooded trails there offer beautiful dappled light and welcome natural shade, even on the very hottest of days. We led the whole family through the winding paths, capturing relaxed and genuinely joyful moments at every turn. Furthermore, the lush greenery provided a stunning and vibrant backdrop for family portraits following this Beacon City Hall elopement.

After the family session wrapped up, Mirelle and Dylan slipped away for their couple portraits on the beach. Storm King Mountain rose dramatically in the background, creating a breathtaking and iconic backdrop for their elopement portraits. We positioned them near the water’s edge and let the magnificent Hudson Valley landscape do the creative heavy lifting. As a result, the mountain, sky, and river together produced some of the most striking images of the day.![]()
Next, we all made our way up to the overlook at Little Stony Point for wide, sweeping panoramic views. The elevated vantage point gave us a dramatic backdrop for some of the most cinematic portraits. We photographed Mirelle and Dylan there, capturing the beauty of this Beacon City Hall elopement at its peak. Finally, they headed to Hudson House in Cold Spring to celebrate over lunch with their loved ones.

Heat waves present unique challenges, but they also create something truly unexpected and beautiful within photographs. The warm golden light, the glow on everyone’s faces, and the shade-dappled moments came together perfectly. Mirelle and Dylan moved through the day with remarkable grace, laughter, and an unshakable sense of joy. As a Beacon-based photography team, those are exactly the qualities that make for extraordinary and timeless images.![]()
If you are inspired by Mirelle and Dylan, here is exactly how a Beacon City Hall elopement works practically. The City of Beacon holds civil ceremonies on Tuesdays at noon at 1 Municipal Plaza, Beacon, NY 12508. Couples must apply for a marriage license online through the City of Beacon Self-Service module for a $40 fee. After submitting required documents by email, the City Clerk will contact you to schedule your marriage license signing.

After your license signing, there is a 24-hour waiting period before the license is officially issued. Once issued, your marriage license remains valid for 60 full days from the date of issuance. Moreover, the City Clerk’s office offers one-day officiant licenses for friends or family who want to officiate. Those applications must be submitted in person and signed before the City Clerk, along with a $25 processing fee.

Courthouse elopements carry a kind of magic that is genuinely and entirely their own. They strip away the extras and leave only what truly matters most, like two people and a shared commitment. This Beacon City Hall elopement is a perfect example of everything we treasure about intimate celebrations. Each one reminds us deeply of why we are so passionate about documenting love in all of its forms.
