Chana and Zach’s photos from their winter wedding at 501 Union reflect the joy and laughter of their celebration. It’s clear these two have immense fun together as a couple. As Hudson Valley wedding photographers, we are so happy to look back on this gallery. The couple and their guests are consistently grinning from ear to ear in their coverage.
The day begins at the Ace Hotel Brooklyn, one of our favorite spots for couples to get ready. This hotel has gorgeous design, lots of color, and is close to the major venues of Brooklyn. About ready and their respective rooms with loved ones, helping them along the way. We love Chana’s choice of pajamas for her crew, which beautifully matched the green tones of the Ace. The deep warm tones in their details paired with the moody elements of the hotel made for some gorgeous flat-lays and pre-wedding photos.
Chana’s dress is from Watters Designs, a sleek and stunning gown that gave off a timeless look. The dress was found at The White Gown, a stunning New York bridal boutique. Hair is done by Face Time Beauty, and makeup by Glamour by Drita. The floral design is expertly crafted by Olivia Howard Designs, one of our top florist recommendations. When it comes to wedding flowers, we love what this couple crafted with their design team.
Their first look took place in the front bar area of the venue. When it comes to a winter wedding at 501 Union, you have tons of space to take photos. There are so many well-designed corners for portraits that don’t require you to be outdoors. These two started back to back as they read their letters from each other. This is a great, sentimental idea for how to begin your big day. The bride and groom then touched hands before they turned to see each other.
A flood of emotions took over the couple for their first look and portraits. This Brooklyn wedding had no shortage of fun and feels, making for some incredible photography. After their portraits, we took time to capture their loved ones in the ceremony space. With such a large party, we wanted to style them in a way that matched the colorful but moody aspects of their event design. Expertly planned by Amy at Poppy & Lynn, this 501 Union wedding day could not have been more joyous.
Their Ketubah signing was surrounded with love from family and friends. While guests arrived, the couple signed while sheltered in the main reception room. There are such great, versatile event spaces at this Gowanus venue. After that, it was time for their ceremony in front of their guests. An emotional, fun ceremony took place under the chuppah with both bride and groom beaming throughout.
Cocktail hour is always a blast for a wedding at 501 Union. We love when couples get to celebrate in this stylish art deco event space. Night Kitchen BK catered the occasion, while Velvet Valley Cakes supplies the incredible dessert. The couple’s vintage-style buttercream wedding cake is definitely a showstopper. We can imagine couples using this cake as inspiration for years to come. This timeless design is the perfect cherry on top of a beautifully put together day.
DJ Allison Kinney from Hank Lane Music kept the party going all night long. From the fun-filled horah to the couple’s favorite music, every guest was on their feet. This tasteful, yet unique, event design, made for one of the most personal feeling events we’ve shot in this space. The team at Poppy and Lynn made sure to incorporate so many elements that are meaningful to the couple.
For events like this one, we highly recommend looking into a planner for your big day like Poppy & Lynn. To pull off such personal touches while having a stress-free planning process, these two had the help of an incredible team. From their wedding ceremony to flowers, their incredible color palette with red and green made this wedding decor was also consistent through their touches. If you’re planning a winter wonderland wedding in Brooklyn, this is the spot for you.
