Mally and Kevin’s beautiful celebration of love took place at their lovely Tribeca Rooftop wedding in NYC. It was a beautiful winter day that was thankfully not super cold for the bride and groom. We always love capturing winter weddings, and doing so at such a photogenic wedding venue in Manhattan was incredible. Let’s dive into this bride and groom’s big day.
The couple got ready separately at the Refinery Hotel in NYC. This space was great for getting ready photos with their respective wedding parties. These two opted not to do a first look prior to their wedding ceremony, as they wanted to have a relaxed day when it came to their fun, candid wedding photography in New York.
The bride and groom’s ceremony was held at St. Francis Xavier Church in Manhattan. This scenic cathedral was spacious with gorgeous architecture. They even had a stunning beam of sunlight coming down the aisle where Mally walked. Kevin saw his bride for the first time as he stood at the altar and had a super happy reaction.
The ceremony was lovely, surrounded by family and friends at this Catholic church wedding in NYC. Mally and Kevin said their vows in front of everyone and made it official. They took a moment after their first kiss to pause and cheer with their loved ones in the audience. It was a super fun addition to this St. Francis Xavier wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony, we took photos with the bridal party on the church steps. Instead of having their guests congregate on the steps, they chose to share this intimate moment with their wedding party instead. We love when couples do this because it allows them to have a smooth transition into taking photos, rather than creating a receiving line.
Following this moment at the St. Francis Xavier wedding church steps, it was time to take couples portraits and wedding party photos. There was a large gap between the ceremony and wedding reception at Tribeca Rooftop, making it easy for the couple to have a relaxed New York wedding photography schedule. We headed over to the Staple Street Skybridge in Tribeca for wedding photos.
Starting with the wedding party, we took photos down this iconic alleyway. Since there was some construction going on under the Skybridge, we opted for an alley across the way to get these iconic New York wedding photos. Sometimes, as fun and candid wedding photographers, you need to think on your feet to get the best shot.
What mattered most to Mally and Kevin was taking fun wedding photos in NYC. They wanted to have a great time with their friends and family during the day instead of rushing through photos before heading inside Tribeca Rooftop. It makes for a more relaxed experience in NYC if there is not a strict timeline that the wedding party has to follow.
We then walked alone with the bride and groom toward their Tribeca Rooftop wedding venue. It was a great moment for this couple to catch their breath from the high-energy day they’d had. They talked while we walked through the streets, taking fun, candid wedding photography in Manhattan. We even ran into some of their friends on the way – and a supermodel stopped them in the street to congratulate them.
When we reached the venue, there was a large decal on the window with the couple’s initials. We took some photos outside the doors before heading upstairs to do family photos on the rooftop. Since the sun sets early in the winter, golden hour was approaching. It made for some beautiful light at this Tribeca Rooftop wedding reception space.
We love weddings at Tribeca Rooftop because it has a lot of architectural elements going on. It’s great for taking candid wedding portraits of couples and their wedding parties. For Mally and Kevin’s Tribeca Rooftop wedding, the bride and groom had a winter wedding in November. The day was thankfully not super cold for the couple, but when it comes to family portraits, you really need to keep people warm.
The couple gave us their shot list prior to the big day, making it nice and easy to get through the family photos. For many couples, this is their least favorite part of the day. You don’t get the same fun energy that many wedding portraits in New York do. However, at their Tribeca Rooftop wedding, we had stunning views of the city, making this an enjoyable moment for everyone.
Cocktail hour was on Tribeca Rooftop’s outdoor space, which is surrounded by 360º views of the city. There were incredible New York City wedding photos to be had no matter where you looked. This Tribeca rooftop venue was made for amazing NYC wedding photography. The couple had heaters, so guests could keep warm as the sun went down.
The reception also took place in Tribeca Rooftop’s indoor/outdoor event space. It is always impressive when couples can make their event flow seamlessly between indoor and outdoor spaces like this one did! The couple even had live music playing during cocktail hour before transitioning into a band for the reception.
Mally and Kevin entered their Tribeca Rooftop wedding reception with grace and poise. They had a grand entrance from the staircase so the entire room full of guests could see them. This immediately led into the first dance, a romantic photography moment between the two of them. The band then opened up the dance floor for a dance set.
Once the guests were feeling energized from dancing, this led into speeches. Their loved ones spoke directly to the couple while they sat at their sweetheart table. There were fun and sweet words spoken at this Tribeca Rooftop wedding celebration. We loved the layout that allowed everyone to see the speaker.
Finally, Mally and Kevin cut the cake. This was a ton of fun as these two were all smiles all day. We love when couples let loose and just enjoy themselves. Once their fun, candid NYC wedding photography coverage was wrapped up, these two continued to dance the night away at their wedding reception in Tribeca.
We absolutely love capturing beautiful Tribeca Rooftop weddings. This gorgeous, grand space in the heart of Manhattan makes for some amazing images, with 360° views of New York City. Tribeca Rooftop is the perfect choice for an indoor/outdoor wedding space in NYC.
Kevin and Mally’s Tribeca Rooftop wedding was just perfect, from their very first moments at The Refinery Hotel to being surrounded by all of their loved ones greeting them upon arrival at the Tribeca Rooftop wedding reception. We are so happy that the weather held up so well on this November day, allowing for some lovely golden hour photos in Tribeca!
A big thank you to Kevin + Mally for having us along with them on their fun and candid Tribeca Rooftop wedding photography coverage. Congratulations again to these two wonderful people.
