The stunning union of Janivean and Ithmam took place at their Seminary Hill wedding in the Catskills. As Hudson Valley wedding photographers, we absolutely adore weddings in this lovely region. The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking, and the scenery around it is just as beautiful. The couple chose this venue for its unmatched beauty.
Janivean and Ithmam got ready in their respective houses at the wedding venue. This event space offers the option to get ready on-site and stay there for the weekend. It’s incredibly convenient for couples and also offers a rustic location to stay with family and friends.
Once they were ready, each half of the couple did a first look with the other’s wedding party members. The bride revealed her look for the groomsmen, and the groom for the bridesmaids. This was a super fun way to start the day and offered a unique hype to both Janivean and Ithmam. After seeing their loved ones, it was time for the couple’s first look.
Ithmam waited out on the hill for Janivean’s approach. We love these fun photos as the couple really got to express themselves. When they saw each other for the first time, the heightened emotions were incomparable. It’s always good to do a first look, so you can get the formalities out of the way prior to the ceremony. That way, you get to fully enjoy your Seminary Hill wedding.
The Catskills wedding photography options at this gorgeous event space are endless. With sprawling mountain scenery and gorgeous greenery, you can’t go wrong no matter where you look. We also really appreciate that the venue allowed us into their orchard. This scenery makes for some extra special portraits, especially for a springtime wedding at Seminary Hill like this one.
After the first look and portraits, we took Janivean and Ithmam’s family photos out on the hill. The endless scenery made for perfect Catskills wedding photos. We are absolutely obsessed with the natural landscapes that surround this venue. As wedding photographers in the Hudson Valley, we can’t get enough of spots like these.
One of the beautiful things about having a Seminary Hill wedding is the ease with which you can customize your day. These two had a beautiful ceremony on the hill at the main property of the cider bar. It overlooked the gorgeous scenery and created an unforgettable experience for guests.
We were so thrilled with the vendor team for this celebration. Planning was done by Alyssa at Alinato Events. James Mulry was the awesome DJ who guided guests through a fun-filled reception. The florals were done by Floral Designs by Sophie. Metro Photo Bus provided a super cool activity for guests to enjoy. Janette Santiago was the hair and makeup artist for Janivean. Catering was done by Joe Taylor Catering. Together, this whole team made a beautiful day into a magical night.
After the ceremony, Ithmam and Janivean did a bubble exit which was so romantic. We love when couples incorporate special details like this into their day. Bubble exits are great for a sunny day where light reflects off of them, creating a beautiful atmosphere. When your venue won’t allow for confetti or petals, this is also a great alternative.
We highly recommend for couples planning an outdoor ceremony to also choose a time in the late afternoon. This will allow the sun to get low enough to have some flattering light, and not be too high. Noon is the harshest time to photograph, which is why as wedding photographers in the Catskills we recommend as far from noon as possible.
Cocktail hour was held in their beautiful indoor space for this Seminary Hill wedding. We love the versatility of this venue, and the option to have both indoor and outdoor event space. Plus, the tent for the receptio was just flawless. It was so great to see the many options that couples can have at this Catskills wedding venue.
One of our favorite details of the day was their fire pit. As the sun went down, they used the fire pit to roast s’mores and enjoy the beautiful evening. Plus, guests flocked to Metro Photo Bus in between courses and dance sets. Janivean and Ithmam tore up the dance floor for their money dance, and even a few TikTok dances.
The night concluded with a cake cutting and dessert. Ithmam and Janivean danced the night away to their favorite songs. DJ James Mulry was an awesome host for the evening while these two celebrated the love they share. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple was able to have the party of a lifetime.
Our biggest piece of advice when it comes to your Seminary Hill wedding is to make it your own. Whether you want to add a personal touch to your ceremony or have a wild dance party, you can create a unique experience for your guests. You can also add special touches like a photo booth or a food cart to your big day.
