Hannah and Kasun got married on a beautiful morning in the heart of Brooklyn. Prospect Park elopements are one of our favorites to capture. These two got married on an overcast day in the spring. We were so lucky that the blossoms were in full bloom during the time that they tied the knot. Prospect Park holds coveted cherry blossoms that are super popular in Brooklyn engagement photos and wedding photos. When these two decided to elope in Prospect Park, we had sincerely hoped that their April elopement would be in time for the spring blossoms.

Although Central Park is one of the most popular cherry blossom photo locations in NYC, we think that Brooklyn is underrated. Prospect Park has some of the most beautiful blooms in the city for New York wedding photographers to capture. It makes for beautiful photos on wedding days like Hannah and Kasun had for their elopement ceremony.

Hannah and Kasun started their Prospect Park wedding day under the rustic arbor near Lullwater Bridge. This area is quiet and perfect for an intimate elopement in Brooklyn. It faces out toward the pond and is near the Prospect Park boathouse, perfect for giving people directions to the location.

They had their family and closest friends join them for the ceremony. Hanging a chuppah overhead that was a family heirloom, this ceremony with Rev Annie NYC was personalized for the couple’s love story. We captured happy moments of this intimate Prospect Park wedding while the couple said ‘I Do’.

After the ceremony, we took some family photos under the pergola. It was a perfect day as the overcast weather made for soft shadows on the couple and their family. Sometimes a rainy or cloudy day ends up being better than sunshine, so there’s no squinting or hard shadows on the couple.

Finally, Hannah and Kasun took their couples photography in Prospect Park. We were so happy to have some spring blossoms in the photos, something that anyone who photographs weddings loves to see. New York City always loves blossoms in the springtime, and this was the perfect occasion.
