Kerri and George tied the knot at a jaw-dropping Jane’s Carousel wedding in the heart of Brooklyn Bridge Park. Although it rained for their entire wedding day, this didn’t stop the couple from having a storybook celebration. This fairytale Brooklyn wedding photography was seriously the most fun to capture as candid New York wedding photographers.
The couple both started off the day getting ready at the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge. For pairs who are planning to marry in DUMBO, this is the perfect hotel for getting ready. It’s a convenient 10-15 minute car ride from the waterfront of the park. The rooms are spacious and bright, and the staff is extremely accommodating.
After everyone was dressed and ready to go, we all hopped in cars and made our way down to the rain-soaked park. The forecast called for light showers all day, but it was more like a full-on downpour! But even though the rain came down hard, it didn’t stop this bride and groom from having the time of their lives. We started off with a first look on the Manhattan skyline, and then made our way around this iconic park for more Brooklyn wedding photos.
This gorgeous vintage carousel was originally built in 1922, and it has been beautifully restored. It’s now a cherished part of Brooklyn history, and it made for the most perfect backdrop for Kerri and George’s Jane’s Carousel wedding photos. Used as a public attraction, this carousel doubles as a wedding venue nestled on the beautiful skyline. As top New York wedding photography professionals, we absolutely adore this location for its romantic views.
Even though it was pouring rain, we still managed to get some stunning Brooklyn Bridge Park wedding photos. We ventured out into the rain for a few quick shots, and then made our way back to the shelter of the Jane’s Carousel wedding venue. Our stops included the Max Family Garden, Washington Street, and Time Out Market. Plus, the carousel itself made for a perfect New York wedding photo backdrop.
Although rain might not be ideal for your wedding day, there are ways to make the best of it! If you’re planning a Jane’s Carousel wedding or any other outdoor New York City celebration, here are a few tips from our professional New York wedding photographers:
Instead of traditional catering, Kerri and George had plenty of food trucks for their celebration. This included Nathan’s Hot Dogs, some chicken and waffles, and a taco truck. Having these trucks created an interactive environment for guests, and it was a fun way to switch things up. Even in the rain, it didn’t stop people from enjoying seconds.
This vintage carousel is one of our favorite places to take wedding photos in Brooklyn. It’s a beautiful and unique setting, and it offers stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. If you’re looking for a fairytale wedding venue, this is definitely it! Even though it rained all day, Kerri and George’s Jane’s Carousel wedding was absolutely perfect. They were surrounded by their closest family and friends, and they had the time of their lives. We were so honored to be a part of their special day as Hudson Valley wedding photographers.
