Northeast Wedding Weekends and Destination Elopements
We're Beacon-based Hudson Valley & Catskills wedding + elopement photographers who love to capture natural, authentic moments for all couples in love.
Multi-day celebrations across the Adirondacks, Catskills, Hudson Valley, and beyond. From welcome drinks to the last dance and everything in between.
Some celebrations deserve more than a single day.
When you gather your favorite people in a beautiful place and stretch the experience across a full weekend, something shifts. There’s time to breathe. Time to actually talk to your guests. Time for morning coffee on the porch and late night conversations by the fire.
We’re Megan and Kenneth, Hudson Valley wedding photographers based in Beacon, NY. We specialize in documenting multi-day celebrations and destination elopements throughout the Northeast. The Adirondacks, the Catskills, the Hudson Valley, and beyond into Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
Whether you’re planning a wedding weekend at a mountain lodge, an intimate elopement on the coast, or anything in between, we’re here for all of it.
Mountain lodges, pristine lakes, and full weekend celebrations in New York’s wild north.
The Adirondacks are made for wedding weekends.
When your guests travel to the mountains, they’re not rushing off after the reception. They’re staying. Hiking in the morning, swimming in the lake, gathering around bonfires at night. The pace slows down, and suddenly you have real time with the people you love.
Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, the High Peaks region. These places offer rugged beauty with lodges and lakefront properties where you can take over the entire space for your celebration. The towering pines, crisp mountain air, and that particular quiet you only find deep in the wilderness create a setting that feels worlds away from everyday life.
We photograph wedding weekends throughout the Adirondacks, capturing everything from welcome events to farewell brunches.
The Setting
Six million acres of protected wilderness. Mountains that demand your attention. Lakes so clear you can see straight to the bottom. The Adirondacks offer dramatic natural beauty that photographs beautifully in every season.
The Privacy
Many Adirondack venues let you take over the entire property. No other guests, no interruptions. Just you, your people, and the mountains.
The Adventure
Some couples squeeze in a hike before their ceremony. Others take canoes out on the lake at sunrise. A wedding weekend gives you time to experience the place together, not just get married in it.
The Pace
When you have a full weekend, there’s no rushing from moment to moment. You can be present. And when you’re present, it shows in the photos.
Lake Placid and the High Peaks
The heart of the Adirondacks. Historic lodges, Olympic history, and access to the region’s most dramatic mountain scenery. Lake Placid offers both sophistication and wilderness.
Saranac Lake
Quieter and more secluded than Lake Placid, with stunning water access and a tight-knit community feel. Perfect for couples who want to feel tucked away from everything.
Lake George
The Queen of American Lakes. Thirty-two miles of crystal clear water surrounded by mountains, with historic resorts, private lakefront properties, and island venues accessible only by boat.
Whiteface Region
Mountain views meet classic Adirondack charm. The area around Whiteface offers a mix of rustic and refined venues with easy access to hiking and lake activities.
Catskills Wedding WeekendsCreative mountain escapes just two hours from the city. Intimate venues, artistic vibes, and weekend celebrations with soul.
The Catskills have always attracted people looking for something different.
Artists, musicians, writers, and dreamers have been escaping to these mountains for generations. That creative spirit lives on in the venues, the food scene, and the couples who choose to get married here. The Catskills offer mountain beauty without pretense. Laid-back luxury. Nature meets intention.
Woodstock, Phoenicia, the Delaware River Valley, the Borscht Belt’s reimagined resorts. This region is close enough to New York City for an easy weekend trip but feels completely removed from urban life.
We’re based in Beacon and photograph weddings throughout the Catskills regularly. These mountains are part of our backyard, and we know them well.
The Accessibility
Two hours from Manhattan, easy access from the Hudson Valley, and close enough that your guests can drive up Friday and stay through Sunday without major travel logistics.
The Venues
Converted barns, boutique hotels, summer camps turned wedding venues, and private estates tucked into the hills. The Catskills have some of the most creative, character-filled wedding venues in the Northeast.
The Vibe
Bohemian, artistic, intentional. Catskills weddings tend to feel personal and curated. Couples who choose this region usually have strong vision and want their celebration to feel like them.
The Food and Drink
Farm-to-table everything. Local distilleries and cideries. The Catskills food scene has exploded in recent years, and wedding weekends here often feature incredible local vendors.
Woodstock and Phoenicia
The cultural heart of the Catskills. Creative energy, stunning mountain drives, and venues that range from rustic to refined. This area attracts couples who want their wedding to feel artful and authentic.
Delaware River Valley
The western Catskills along the Delaware River offer a quieter, more pastoral feel. Rolling farmland, river access, and venues with serious privacy.
Sullivan County and the Borscht Belt
Historic resorts reimagined for modern celebrations. This area has seen a renaissance in recent years, with venues that honor the region’s history while offering contemporary hospitality.
Hunter and Tannersville
Mountain towns with ski resort access and a mix of cozy and elevated venues. Great for couples who want winter wedding options or easy outdoor activities for their guests.
Hudson Valley Wedding WeekendsHistoric estates, river views, and celebrations that unfold across rolling hills and charming towns. Our home turf.
We’re based in Beacon, right in the heart of the Hudson Valley. This is home.
The Hudson Valley offers something the mountains can’t: history layered into every landscape. Revolutionary War estates, Gilded Age mansions, working farms that have been here for centuries. The Hudson River itself winds through it all, connecting small towns full of artists, chefs, and makers.
Beacon, Cold Spring, Garrison, Newburgh, Rhinebeck, the list goes on. Each town has its own character, but they share a commitment to preservation, creativity, and community. When couples get married here, they’re stepping into a place with deep roots.
We’ve photographed weddings at venues throughout the Hudson Valley for years. We know the light, the seasons, the hidden spots. This region is in our bones.
The Variety
River views, mountain backdrops, historic estates, converted barns, modern venues with Hudson River panoramas. The Hudson Valley has options for every style and budget.
The Charm
Small towns with walkable main streets, farm stands, local restaurants, antique shops. Your guests can explore between wedding events and fall in love with the area.
The Proximity
An hour to ninety minutes from New York City. Close enough for guests to drive up easily, far enough to feel like an escape.
The Seasons
The Hudson Valley is stunning year-round. Fall foliage that draws visitors from around the world. Snowy winters perfect for cozy celebrations. Spring blooms and summer golden hour along the river.
Beacon and Newburgh
Our home base. Beacon has transformed into a creative hub with Dia:Beacon anchoring a thriving arts scene. Newburgh offers historic architecture and Hudson River views with an emerging food and drink scene.
Cold Spring and Garrison
Quintessential Hudson Valley charm. Cold Spring’s Main Street is postcard-perfect, and Garrison offers stunning river views with proximity to hiking and historic sites.
Rhinebeck and the Mid-Hudson
Classic Hudson Valley elegance. Historic inns, renowned restaurants, and some of the region’s most iconic wedding venues.
Highland and New Paltz
Where the Hudson Valley meets the Shawangunk Ridge. Dramatic cliff views, orchards, and a mix of rustic and refined venues with easy access to hiking and outdoor activities.
Northeast Destination Weddings and ElopementsRhode Island, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts. Coastal escapes, mountain retreats, and New England charm.
Looking for a destination wedding that doesn’t require a passport?
The Northeast has everything. Rocky coastlines in Maine, rolling farmland in Vermont, historic estates in Connecticut, Rhode Island’s beaches and mansions, the Berkshires in Massachusetts. Each state offers a distinct character, but they all share that New England charm.
We photograph destination weddings and elopements throughout the Northeast. Whether you’re planning a cliffside ceremony in Acadia, an intimate gathering at a Newport estate, or a cozy winter elopement in Vermont, we travel to document your celebration wherever it takes you.
Accessibility
Your guests can actually get there. No international flights, no complicated logistics. A few hours in the car and everyone’s together.
Seasonal Beauty
The Northeast does seasons like nowhere else. Fall foliage in Vermont, snowy winter ceremonies in the Berkshires, coastal summer celebrations in Maine, spring blooms in Connecticut gardens.
Natural Weekend Vibes
When guests travel for a destination wedding, they stay. That means more time together and more moments worth capturing.
Rhode Island
Newport’s gilded age mansions. Block Island’s windswept beaches. Providence’s urban elegance. Rhode Island packs surprising variety into a small state and is one of the most beautiful places to elope on the East Coast.
Maine
Acadia National Park. The rocky coast of Kennebunkport. Portland’s working waterfront. Maine offers rugged, wild beauty that feels a world away from city life. Lighthouse ceremonies and lobster bakes included.
Vermont
Mountain views, covered bridges, farm-to-table everything. Vermont is made for intimate celebrations. Fall weddings here are iconic, but winter elopements against snowy landscapes are equally breathtaking.
Connecticut
Rolling hills, historic inns, and estates tucked into the countryside. Connecticut combines refined elegance with natural beauty. The Litchfield Hills and Connecticut River Valley are particularly stunning.
Massachusetts
The Berkshires’ cultural richness. Cape Cod’s beaches. Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket’s island charm. Massachusetts offers sophisticated backdrops for every wedding style.
Not every destination celebration needs a guest list. Some couples want to slip away to a beautiful place, say their vows, and have the whole experience documented.
Stand on the cliffs at Acadia National Park at sunrise. Exchange vows on a private beach in Rhode Island. Hike to a waterfall in Vermont and say I do in the mist. Find a covered bridge in Connecticut and make it your ceremony backdrop. Charter a sailboat in Maine and marry on the water.
Elopements aren’t one size fits all, and neither are we. Tell us your dream, and we’ll help you figure out how to make it real.

How far in advance should we book?
For wedding weekends, we recommend reaching out 12 to 18 months ahead when possible. These celebrations require more planning and our calendar fills up, especially for peak season weekends. That said, we’ve put together beautiful celebrations on shorter timelines too.

Absolutely. Every package is a starting point. We adjust coverage hours, team size, and deliverables based on your specific needs and vision.
What if it rains?
The Northeast is gorgeous in any weather. Misty mountain mornings, dramatic coastal skies, cozy indoor moments by the fire. We’ve photographed in hurricanes, snowstorms, and wildfire smoke. Weather doesn’t scare us, and some of our favorite images come from imperfect conditions.
Do you offer film photography?
Yes. We shoot 35mm and medium format film alongside digital. Film is available as an add-on to any package.
Can you help with vendor recommendations?
We have connections with planners, florists, caterers, and officiants throughout the Adirondacks, Catskills, Hudson Valley, and broader Northeast. We’re always happy to share recommendations.
Do you photograph elopements with guests?
Yes! Elopements can be just the two of you or include a small group of your favorite people. We document intimate celebrations of all sizes.
Whether you’re dreaming of a mountain lodge in the Adirondacks, a creative escape in the Catskills, an elegant Hudson Valley estate, or a coastal celebration in New England, we’d love to hear about it. Tell us where you’re headed and what you’re envisioning. We’ll take it from there.
Either way works for us! We’ll be in touch in no time at all to book in a chat with you and, yes, we’re sure Cordy and Phoebe will pop up and say hi.
