Laura and Rebecca’s DUMBO engagement photo shoot at night felt like scenes from a movie. We usually only capture early morning sessions at that location, so taking evening photos was a dream. This neighborhood was pretty empty at night time, leaving great spots for us to take photos. We love how the city lights are aglow in the background. As Brooklyn wedding photographers, this session was a unique experience for us and the couple.

As far as nontraditional engagement photos in New York, go, this shoot was seriously amazing. We are so obsessed with these images. They feel like they are out of a Netflix film. It was the couple’s idea to get nighttime shots, creating a super unique atmosphere in their images.
While we normally recommend doing sunrise photo shoots in Brooklyn Bridge Park, we are also open to nighttime sessions. While they may not be light and airy like many NYC engagement pictures, these are truly artful. The couple had so much fun walking around this quiet evening for their Dumbo engagement photo shoot.
Our biggest piece of advice when planning a Brooklyn Bridge Park engagement session is to plan ahead. Reach out to your photographers and figure out a good day and time to take your nighttime photos. We wouldn’t recommend doing this on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. The neighborhood is pretty vibrant on those days. However, if you go on a Monday evening, for example, that may be a good option for your photo shoot.

We offer recommended engagement photo shoots with every package. This is because we want to get to know our couples ahead of time. It’s very important to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day. As far as locations in New York City go, you can’t go wrong with a DUMBO engagement photo shoot.
It was also thematic to their wedding day because they decided to tie the knot at 26 Bridge. This is a great wedding venue for couples who love a rustic, yet industrial energy. We love that we were able to capture matching shots on their wedding day as well as on their engagement session.
