We're Beacon-based Hudson Valley & Catskills wedding + elopement photographers who love to capture natural, authentic moments for all couples in love.
Sachi and Niket had a unique idea for their New York engagement photography. Instead of the typical locations like Central Park or the Brooklyn Bridge, they wanted something more personal. These two chose to do Carl Schurz Park engagement photos on a lovely summer day. This place had tons of meaning to the couple, who spent countless dates there together.

Carl Schurz Park is a waterfront park and situated next to Gracie Mansion. This place has a view of the East River, United Nations Headquarters and the Queensboro Bridge. It is near Yorkville, Manhattan and has a lovely breeze coming off the water. It’s a unique spot for engagement photos in the Upper East Side.
Everyone knows that the summers in New York City are brutal. Yet, Sachi and Niket did a great job battling the heat for their Carl Schurz Park engagement photos. They look so happy together! The way they look at each other is just wonderful. These two took us through personal parts of the park that were special to them.

As New York & Catskills wedding photographers, we always love it when our couples bring their dogs to their engagement photo shoot. It just adds a special touch and makes the photos that much more meaningful. Sachi and Niket’s pup even smiled for some of their Carl Schurz Park engagement pictures!
Near the end of their session at Carl Schurz Park, these two pulled out a bottle of bubbly to celebrate. We had so much fun taking photos with a cork popping! This was a great way to end the engagement photo session and toast for their wedding. As New York wedding photography professionals, we love when couples add a unique twist to their session.
After the park, Niket and Sachi took us to two other locations. The first was Gotham Pizza for a slice together. Having props in engagement photos is always a fun idea! Pro tip: If you’re planning to do a session with pizza, call ahead of time. That way the pizza won’t be super hot when you’re posing and eating the slice.
Our last stop was the bar where the couple had their first date. We love that they incorporated Carl Schurz Park engagement photos and the Penrose. Taking a tour of the spots where their relationship blossomed was amazing. This is one of the most romantic ideas for engagement photos in New York!

Thank you Sachi and Niket for the awesome tour of special places in your relationship. We loved capturing these Carl Schurz Park engagement photos because we adore unique ideas from couples. If you’re thinking about having a session in New York, let us know what you’d like to achieve. We would love to take a tour of your love story around the city as well.
Either way works for us! We’ll be in touch in no time at all to book in a chat with you and, yes, we’re sure Cordy and Phoebe will pop up and say hi.
